Yes, the normal person's blood sugar is 80 to 90 even after a meal
with plenty of carbohydrate.

Thanks - yes I meant blood sugar, glad you spotted the goof!
The allopaths will call it hypoglycemia, but it is more a case of
"toxic reaction to unaccustomed toxin".
I have never had a soda in my life, and the glucose "tolerance' test
is a deliberate huge overload of unexpected sugar.
That never occurs in nature and the body is unprepared to handle it.
It does its best but gets such a fright it overdose the insulin, and
has to equilibrate again.
It is pure stupidity to devise and apply such a stupid test (in my
very "humble" opinion for damaging procedures called diagnostics).
It is like holding someone underwater for 5 minutes to see if they
drown easily.

We DO have glucose meters to see what the blood is doing without
something quite so stupid.
Allopathy has several damaging tests, and I learned many years ago to
decline them as a policy - and that policy has saved my life on
occasion.
Maybe it is not "stupid" - maybe it is just a spelling problem -
hypocracies confused with Hippocrates
:-)

A pre-diabetic response would be a LESSER first phase insulin
response, and not one that over-produces first phase insulin.

They test people used to downing many sugary drinks and those who
never used them, the same way.
Not the brightest spark developed that idea.

Namaste,
Irene

Hi Irene,

Thank you. It is a very interesting hypothesis, even though it does
not convince me.

Dear Luise,

If it was a theory I'd have said so, but this is known
metabolism :-) In fact it has been found out independently by several
different people, like Maria Piezolo and Richard Bernstein, Both the
Heller professors, and others.

What is now theory (and getting closer to "known" in rodents at
least) is HOW the phase one and phase two insulin is triggered in
such a time dependent fashion.
There are a couple of hypoptheses for that.
:-)

Sometimes science actually does figure out what the body is doing in
certain circumstances, I'm not sure why you doubt quite so much
definitive research which has been shown in practice too. But of
course that's your prerogative.

I am not against taking into consideration the results of scientific
research.

But - browsing on pubmed - I have found only evidence that LC Diet
lowers the blood sugar. This I have never doubted.
I am interested in the other research you mention in preivious mails.
I'll re-answer those maisl just pearing them down to the research I
mean.

Perhaps you can then let me know where on pubmed I can find that
research - from there I can go on to try and access the full research
papers one way or other. Or. of you have the details of these
articles, title, when and where done etc. I can find them from this
information.

I amy be convinced after studying those articles - that remains to be
seen.

Luise

Hi Luise,

I think I already mentioned the books and researchers you need to
read to find the research.
I can not type it all for you, sorry. That's why I went to the
trouble and expense to get and study the relevant books, and why I
attended the relevant lectures:-) It is often necessary to buy a book
rather than search PubMed for original research.
It will likely point to PubMed items as well, but while it is a good
place to check, PubMed contains a minority of original research.
Without a good ref it is hard to find what you want there too -
especially as here where much of this is quite old now, and you might
not even find the abstracts on PubMed any more. Also research on
Pubmed often has bits and pieces of the picture and it is you who
needs to assemble the zigsaw puzzle. (The books referred to, do it
for you with refs to the pieces so you can do it too).

Top Starting places:
Dr R Bernstein: book "Dr Bernstein's Diabetes solution"
Dr N Perricone: Lectures and books
Professors Heller and Heller: Lectures and books
The references in these will get you the rest.

I hope that helps. I'm sorry it is not always possible to find what
you need conveniently and free. (Though my emails were intended to do
just that for you!)

Namaste,
Irene

Hi Irene,
No, I am not going to get any more books claiming that this and that
and something else has been shown and proven by research - I have read
too many, all saying something different. I have no doubt that the
books you mention back up what you are saying.

But just as you have said a number of times in your mails: in order to
make up my mind I have to study the research itself in order to come
to any conclusion.

So I just have one final question: are the various research papers the
authors refer to fully referenced in their books, so that I can get
the information I need to track them down from the books? If not, they
are no use to me.

What you say about the pumed abstracts does not matter. I have a full
supply of the symposiums andconferences where they were probably
introduced or of the journals they were published in in various
medical libraries at the universities right around me - all it takes
is a drive of 10 - to 20 miles.

I am sorry I am not easy to convince, and I am glad that your emails
on the topic found some readers where this is different.

Regards

That's fine Luise. If I was being paid to do a course, I'd feel
obliged to spend time on this for you, but that is not how it is. I
need to choose the best use of my time, and the books referenced
contain original research as I said - not discussions of someone
else's research. I feel that's far enough to go with refs in this
situaition.
I do not go by people's discussion of others' research either by the
way :-)

In addition it has to make sense metabolically to me. (One reason I
studied as much as I did in that field)
It does in this case, and has therefore got me from an insulin
dependent type 2 diabetic to one not needing insulin.
Also several people on a diabetes list. And a long list of "used to
be diabetic on insulin" cats:-)

Cats by the way have a version of diabetes that is like type 2 except
that they damage the pancreas cells with amyloid body deposits (and
no I do not have the original research ref handy on that either),
making them almost automatically insulin dependent due to the
severity of beta cell destruction by amyloid. For cats an autopsy and
path lab showed me what the pancreas did, though I also saw some of
the research.

We each have our own standards.
No doubt?
:-)))))

That list is like telling someone who knows nothing about homeopathy to read Kent, Sankaran, Vithoulkas, DeSchepper, Vespoor but no mention of Hahnemann. They only get a glimpse of the whole concept. That's what happens when someone tries to bypass the original research and form their own hypotheses trying to supecede the founder.

Dr. R Atkins, the pioneer of no/low carb dieting, instilled the awareness of carb restriction on pre-diabetes, diabetes. That's why his books are still in-print bestsellers always found in bookstores with updated versions because they focus on prevention not palliation. And resulted in after-thought authors looking get on the gravy train. It's more advantageous to identify and treat one's glucose dysregulation predispositions before they progress to diabetes, not after.

No one on either list has outsmarted their founders!
