Re Q.E.D.

Pretty much but a bit more than that. It is considered proof that
"That which was required to be demonstrated has been shown".
The most common modern usage is after a mathematical proof has been
made. One puts Q.E.D. at the end of the proof detail.

Math students sometimes joke that it should stand for "Quite Easily
Done" to braq that a tricky proof was done by them "quite easily".......
Easy to say once it is done, which is when the QED is added in much
the way a story has "The End" at the bottom:-)

The Latin (Quod Erat Demonstrandum) is literally "which was to be
demonstrated" .... placed at the end of the work to demonstrate that
the required point was indeed proved.
