Characteristics
Is a valuable remedy in diarrhoea, cholera infantum
and skin affections. These may alternate with each
other. Feels tight all over. It is one of the
antidotes to Rhus poisoning, as is evident from its
wide and intense action upon skin and mucous
membranes, causing both irritation and inflammation, &
formation of vesicles and mucous discharges. Has
effective affinity for skin of face and external
genitals. Burning in oesophagus. 2 It has a peculiar
feeling as if parts were drawn backwards, eyes,
nipples, etc. Skin symptoms # internal symptoms,
diarrhoea, etc. 7 Great weakness, esp. of arms and
legs.
Mind
2 Feeling of anxiety; as if some personal misfortune
would befall him. Not disposed to work. Can't think

Eczema capitis of infants, either vesicular or
pustular, vesicles dry and desquamate leaving red, raw
and inflamed surfaces, sensitive to touch. 11 Boring

Eyes
SE Feel drawn backward; 5 feeling as if a string were
pulling eyeball back into head. PA 11 From pupil of l.
eye extending to back into head. Sticking. Stinging in
eyeballs. Sore, in eyeballs, when turning eyes.
Burning, in inflamed eye, & burning in ear, vertigo
and fainting. OB Granular lids; pustules on cornea.
Red and raw appearance; 2 purulent ophthalmia. 4
Oedematous swelling of eyelids [eyelids look puffed].
Opacity of cornea. Conjunctiva full of dark vessels.
Photophobia. 7 Copious lachrymation. 11 Conjunctivitis

Throat

Food & drink
Vertigo agg. drinking. Copious watery stools agg.

sensation of weakness. 11 Anguish, oppression and
pressure in stomach. PA 11 Burning. OB 2 Excessive
nausea; 5 & vanishing of sight. 5 Retching and
vomiting, amel. pressure. Stomach sensitive to touch.
11 Vomiting of ingesta. Vomiting of yellowish-white
frothy fluids.
Abdomen
SE Swashing [7 gurgling] sensation in intestines; 7 as
if only water in them; mostly on l. side. 7 Unpleasant
sensation of emptiness and hunger; rumbling in
abdomen. 11 Extreme coldness through entire abdomen, &
chilliness along spinal column downward, & nausea and
vomiting, followed by flushed feeling in head and
face. Bearing down in abdomen, as if everything was
relaxed. PA 4 Colic and diarrhoea immediately after
nursing. Colicky pain in transverse colon before every
stool. 11 Writhing, commencing in region of transverse
colon and gradually extending to downward through
whole intestinal canal. Griping colic and writhing
around umbilicus. Pressing in epigastrium and
umbilicus after stool. Sore, in abdomen, from cough.
OB 2 Pressure on navel = pain in rectum [5 anus] and
urging to stool; 11 on pressing on umbilicus with
hand, painful sensation is felt all along intestinal
canal to termination of rectum, causing latter to
protrude. 4 Urticaria of skin of abdomen. 5 Flatulent
distension, & rumbling, then urging to stool, followed
by sudden watery stool; 2 then prostration. 7 Abdomen
full and distended, & griping pain about navel.
Rectum
SE 2 Pain in anus as if a plug were forcing outwards.
7 Dragging in anus, as if diarrhoea would easily
ensue. PA 5 Burning in anus. OB Copious watery stools,
& much urging; always forcibly shot out, & gurgling in
intestines; agg. drinking least quantity, or even
while eating. Constant urging to stool, followed by
sudden evacuations. 2 Summer diarrhoea. Cholera
infantum. 4 STOOLS POURING OUT LIKE WATER FROM A
HYDRANT. Diarrhoea & nausea and vomiting. 5 Diarrhoea
& pain following colon down to rectum. 7 Evacuation
sudden, & much flatus. Stool very thin, like yellowish
water, forcibly evacuated. 11 Stools occur suddenly,
one gush and it is finished; great prostration after a
passage. Each stool seems to "drain child dry," but
notwithstanding, very little prostration. Stool: dark
green; tenacious, mucous; watery, mixed with whitish
flakes.
Urinary
PA 4 Burning in urethra when urinating. OB Night urine
foaming; dark orange colour; turbid on standing;
greasy particles floating on top. Day urine is pale, &

walk about the room or sleep in a chair [for fear of

SE 7 Of fulness in both sides of chest, & burning
stitches in l. thorax, extending to both scapulae. 11
Chest as if hollow, as if everything was hanging down.
PA 11 Drawing, through l. pectoral region into back.
OB 11 Accumulation of rattling mucus in chest, which
is painful to touch.
Heart
PA 4 Stitches in region of heart during expiration. OB
4 Palpitation prevents him from going to sleep. 11
Palpitation, & difficulty of breathing, esp. on going
up stairs. Pulse frequent and full.
Back
PA 11 Stitches in region of kidneys, arresting
breathing.
Upper
PA 2 Shoulders and neck painful. 11 Sticking or
aching, in shoulder-joints. Tearing, shooting, in l.
arm, from shoulder to elbow and back of hand, &
swelling of shoulder and whole arm; inability to move
the limb or lie down; agg. at night, preventing sleep,
but if rest be obtained, he awakes relieved, but least
