Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Hi all. I am new to this board and relatively new to homeopathy.
I am to have four impacted wisdom teeth removed next week. (They are at the point that they MUST be removed. I would not have dental work done unless absolutely necessary.)
What are good homeopathic treatments after this procedure? Further, would they be effective even, considering the dental work being done?
I was thinking of applying a calendula mouthwash after the procedure and possibly arnica for the bruising? I'm struggling to stick with one medicine at a time considering the circumstances.
Any thoughts or advise on this? Thank you all for your help.

Hi Michelle,

it sounds like you have good ideas;
if it were me, I'd be also lining up a craniosacral session at about
one week after

Arnica, I'd suggest immediately after surgery, one pill 30c or 200c -
then use 200c in liquid posology:
one pill in a half full pint water bottle, sip approx. 1tbsp of this
remedy solution every 2 or 3 hours for the first day, tapering off
until it's used up. Before taking each 1tbsp dose, the solution
should be succussed (bang the bottle strongly against a relatively
hard surface like a phone book) 5 times & then let sit for about 5
minutes before using.

If pain becomes an issue right about the time you stop the Arnica ..
you could make up another bottle of remedy solution. Succuss it about
50 times after you make it up, then let sit for an hour before using
as before.

You may be taking pharmaceutical pain killers.
Otherwise consider if appropriate
Hypericum: This remedy is known for its soothing effect when nerves or
nerve-filled body areas are injured. Shooting, jabbing pains are often
felt. Hypericum is very useful after oral surgery
Ruta:
bone and periosteal pain after dental surgery; bone pain in and after
any oral surgery; and scraping of the periosteum; bone and periosteal
pain after dental surgery.

There are, of course other remedies which might be indicated, mostly
differentiated on the qualities of the pain (dull throbbing vs
shooting or jabbing, etc)

Assuming you have no issues afterward that's great. If so, you'll
want to check with the dentist, and may also want to consult with a
homeopath.

Hi Michelle,

Adding one more--when my daughter's four were removed a few months ago,
to my HUGE surprise Arnica did not a thing for her (tho we tried a
*full* range of potencies!), and a raft of other "usual suspects" also
did not do much, but Bellis perennis (we used 30c) acted quickly
(within minutes) and dramatically, both for her very intense pain and
huge swelling. She repeated a few(?) times over the next few days, as
needed. I still don't know when to think Bellis for the situation
rather than Arnica, but for her it was key!! May your procedure go
smoothly and peacefully.

anaesthetics! I wish I could remember where the article was, or the
author, but it was stated that hypericum has been successfully used
*instead* of surgical anaesthetic (yikes, I think that would test *my*
faith!!), but that also the two can cancel each other out, leaving the
patient with *no* pain relief. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
