LACHESIS in LM potency

Post by HomeoDidact »

Hi,
1) Is it safe to give Lachesis in LM/1?
2) If you give Lachesis in LM/1 -- does the same "rule" that applies when giving it in C potency - also applies here,
that is: giving ONE single dose and waiting a long time and assessing its action over a LONG time? (and how much time?)
Thanks in advance.
Rafy

LM s are known to be safer and produce less unwasnted side effects than C s
You normally start giving them daily

Dear Rafy

there are 2 books by Luc De Schepper that will really help you to answer these - and many more questions

1. Hahnemann Revisited - A Textbook of classical homeopathy for the professional
2. Achieving and Maintaining the Simillimum

I found that after reading these books I was very confident in prescribing LMs from the 6th edition of the Organon and C potencies in water from the 5th edition.

Both books are well written and there were times I could not put them down!
I hope this helps
Kind regards
Lucy

Hi all,
Are you asking because of it being Lach.? I had heard that some remedies, Lach for one can cause deep changes more easily than some remedies-pardon my ignorance, still relatively new to Homeopathy. The question seemed to be phrased in a way not particularly about LM's in general but Lach in LM as opposed to C potency and that while LM's are gentler, can you repeat without that risk.
Thanks,
Susan

hi all
Yes it is very safe to give in LM and often preferable
No, you do NOT automatically give them daily - a misconception that is out there. You could easily aggravate someone severely. You find a frequency that is best for the patient.

You give a test dose and see the response - all explained in the 6th edition of the organon
Basically a test dose and get feedback in a few days and then figure out frequency. Not a real obvious response can repeat every few days and monitor.
If an obvious positive response, wait until goes a little backward and then repeat again. That interval is the frequency you will now use for dosing

Some people are too sensitive even for LM's and then you would use C's in water, starting with 6c even if very sensitive, or 12C or 30C and can use 8 oz bottle to dilute even further and smaller amounts and dilution cups.

Dr. Luc de Schepper teaches this in detail and I will send more info on this and also instructions I give to the patient based on the organon

Lachesis is said to need more careful repetition than other
remedies--tho some people say that's not particularly true. But it's
always preferable to avoid aggravation, and an "intense" one such as
lachesis maybe especially so!

yes, as safe as any other --
(given the usual caveats as to individual sensitivity, size of dose, etc)
I'm guessing your question is referring to "material dose" issues, where potencies below Avogadro's number (under 12c or thereabouts ?) would theoretically contain one or more molecules of the "material substance." In theory, then, LM/1 could contain some few molecules of "material substance" .. though anything over 3c is generally accepted as "non poisonous"
-and certainly not anywhere near enough to consider as compared to the "material dose" of an actual envenomation.
In addition to this factoid, there is this:
If you drink venom, will it kill you?
Poisons are substances that are toxic (cause harm) if swallowed or inhaled. Venoms are generally not toxic if swallowed, and must be injected under the skin (by snakes, spiders, etc.) into the tissues normally protected by skin in order to be toxic.
These "rules" should be considered "general" .. with greater flexibility toward "altering the rule to suit the circumstance" in cases of emergency; with rapid pathology. (as in, for instance, a snakebite..)

LM and C potency are somewhat similar in "onset" - given similar dosing.
I very rarely give a "dry dose" .. which is materially perhaps 8 or more "doses" when the single pillule is used to make the recommended (5th & 6th Organon) "medicinal solution."
In any case, there is always the "need" for giving the first dose as a "test dose" then "watch and wait" for signs of the remedy in action... else we are operating blindly !
HOW LONG ? you say .. great question ;-) the short answer:
It depends on, in approximate order of prioritization;
pace of remedy (venoms are fast-paced vs heavy metal toxicity: very slow)
depth of remedy (venoms and heavy metal may produce life-threatening sympoms; non-poisonous flowers will not)
Individual sensitvity
pace of pathology ; depth of pathology (self explanatory ?)
VERY generally .. when using C or LM in liquid posology, and not in rapid development of life-threatening pathology;
After giving the "test dose" we would be looking for some signs of remedy action.
If we see no signs after what seems to be a reasonable period of time (refer to above generalities)
-we should re-think and confirm whether or not to re-dose .. or consider our 2nd choice Rx.
