dental abscess

Post by Shannon Nelson »

I remember someone fairly recently writing that they'd had a tooth
abscess re-mineralize, as confirmed by x-ray and to the dentist's
perplexity. But I can't find the post... If that person could "raise
their hand" :-) I'd love to ask a couple of questions? (Dale,
could it have been you?)

Thanks!
Shannon

I'd be interested in this question, too. Thanks. Rosemary

Might have been me - a long while back?
Or if not i had a similar experience:

I do have a tooth that had an abscess - and now it is calcified down
the centre as if it "did its own root canal therapy",
using tooth material :-)
Indeed the dentist is perplexed, it shows on x-ray as all tooth.

I do not remember what remedy or remedies I used for the abscess,
just that I had no dental coverage so dived for remedy at the time,
and that it took quite a while to come right.

Irene

Thanks Irene--sorry for my long lapse with this!! I'm hoping you can
describe more about what happened?

I assume that at least most of the pain stopped fairly early on--else
it would be hard to stay out of that dentist's chair! So then was it
strictly chronic / concomitant picture that guided the remedies, or did
you also use some "on theory"?

When you say it took a long time to come right, can you remember any
more detail--what symptoms lingered, and what besides pain were you
guided by? Also, do you recall whether it made an outlet and drained,
or whether the infection was absorbed? I'm dealing with one now where
there is *no* pain, but a "bump" has formed on the side of the gum.
Sometimes the "bump" is basically flat (remedy and/or vitamin C), and
other times it bulges out again. I'm being guided by symptoms in the
broader case, but not sure what to expect as far as repetition (the
other sxs are somewhat subtle and intermittent). Also at present the
broader case seems to be doing great, but progress with the bump seems
to be at a plateau... Time for e.g. myristica or hekla or silica "on
theory", and see what works (i.e. causes the bump to go down again), or
??? I'm kind of stumped... Did you find the constitutional remedy
sufficient to bring about remineralization too?

Thanks!
Shannon

Yes and no, in that the pain reduced significantly, but did not go
away properly for a long time - if i stopped the remedy, the pain
came back a while later, I do not remember how long after - and if I
restarted the remedy, the pain went.
So I took the remedy for a long time on and off, till eventually the
pain did not return. Perhaps I needed a higher potency - I regret I
do not remember any details as to what I used. But eventually I
forgot all about it and forgot about the remedy. It was just no hassle.

It was the dentist at an annual checkup who pointed out the calcified
central area in the tooth on an xray and was stunned that such a
thing could happen.
I do not remember details but I always repertorize for a remedy so I
assume I chose one based on symptoms.
i do not remember any of the details, sorry - but I can say I always
rep based on mentals as most relevant, generals 2nd in importance and
specifics (like tooth pain) third. This is so despite that i do
remember it was tooth pain that triggered the need for remedy.
Absorbed.
I was also not sure hence kept stopping after symptoms were not there.
I hesitate to use "constitutional remedy" as a term. I prefer
"simillimum" as that is my term for matching the symptoms seen/
experienced at the time. (I like to use "constitutional' only if it
applies to the permanent matching innate constitutional type, and
which is not often the case, especially in an acute issue). So for
me, simillimum was what remineralized the tooth - though I did not
know it was happening at the time. I was just trying to get rid of
the abscess without needing a dentist.

Sorry I do not remember more!
Homeopathy often provides wonderful "extra" surprise results. Gotta
love it!

Okay, thanks. (Yeah, I knew I was misusing the term
"constitutional"... :-) )
A final question, perhaps you'll remember whether the potency /
repetition you used were more like what you'd have expected if you were
treating *only* routine issues in absence of physical pathology, or
whether the need for repetition was significantly more frequent? Right
now I'm *wishing* there were pain, since that's what I'm accustomed to
using in this sort of situation!

Does anybody else have a "Wow was my dentist surprised, but there it
was on the x-rays" story about remineralizing an abscessed tooth?
(hope-hope?)

Thanks again,
Shannon

Shannon- Hi, I regret I just have no memory of the dosing or potency
art all. It would have been aqueous and C potency is all I can say!

Sorry!
