about when TCM herbs are used at the same time or not.
I've treated some people that are also having acupuncture treatments in
parallel, so far so good, but I don't have enough experience with it to
have a personal conclusion about this. I think it does depend a good deal
on the competence and awareness of the practitioners. Also, I could see an
issue if the acupuncture (or for that sake the homeopathy) were being aimed
more at suppressing local symptoms while the other is trying to heal at a
deeper level that may try to bring more symptoms to the surface.
Because of these complications, I can certainly understand why some
homeopaths would not want to deal with it, or feel like it is harder to
assess and control such a case. On the other hand, I find there are times
that it is not yet clear to me what I should do for the client or the
remedy is not yet acting visibly to them, but since their acupuncture
treatment can give them good relief for a number of days or longer, I have
more time to take considered homeopathic action.

Eric,
Personally, I feel that the only way we can know what acupuncture, herbs,
etc. can do is to do provings on them just as with remedies. Hahnemann felt
this was THE way to evaluate "medicines". Perhaps acupuncture points are
homeopathic to the diseases they are used to treat. If not, then they are
suppressive and in that case "relief" is a dangerous thing.

TCM is clinically proven for 5k yrs.
I'm positive that it COULD be suppressive, also positive that, properly
practiced it can be curative.. though possibly not at the level of miasm.
If people want to mix different treatment modalities together, they probably
will no matter what is said.. until/unless their experience teaches them
different.
I was trying to make the point that these two systems (homeopathy & TCM)
have altogether different philosophy and yet both affect the individual on
energetic/vibrational level, and are, therefore, incompatible (except to the
person who believes he understands it *all* intimately -right down to the
stuff that most of us will admit is known only empirically)
The major portion of healers I have observed, who were first M.D.'s or
N.D.'s or TCM practitioners, and so on- have (naturally) a certain mindset
which is not wholly compatible with homeopathy; nor is it easily noticeable
to the self (naturally) .. not to say that it's not possible to overcome,
and then to go on to practice homeopathy .. just to say that there often
*IS* this mindset to overcome.. and many do not seem to so do.
I doubt that you will find any homeopath, anywhere.. who was first trained &
successful as a homeopath & then trained as a TCM practitioner who believes
that these two should be practiced as concurrent complements... though I can
positively guarantee that you will find plenty of healers who've imprinted
the mindset of their first-learned modality, who will study homeopathy and
believe it to be "just another tool in the toolbox" to be mixed & matched at
will.
