no-brainer remedy decision?

Hi,

Any thoughts on this one? It seems like a "no-brainer" but...

I've been treating a 7 year old kid for a few months now - main
problem is respiratory issues, he's also somewhat hyper. He's on
Phos. When we started he was on Ventolin and a steroid inhaler almost
daily, plus Singulair once a day. Almost immediately he happily went
off the inhalers altogether (doc was shocked) and we started the
process of getting him off the Singulair. Then he got sick - more of
a flare-up style chronic than a true acute - and back came the
inhalers in full force.

While sick the picture sounded a lot like Bell - but I only got the
full picture once he was on the mend, so didn't want to intervene with
Bell when his body was doing the job. During the sickness the mother
gave the Phos a few times, and it helped somewhat.

Now he's moving off the inhalers again and I'm hoping to start the
process of bringing him off the Singulair again - I'm taking it slow
as he's been on this medication for several years.

The question is - it turns out a lot of his chronic picture does match
Bell. But the Phos has been helping a lot in the chronic, helped
somewhat in the acute, and if it ain't broke we don't fix it, right?
Or not?

But then what do I do with the lemons?! (turns out he really likes
lemons, info that only came out during the acute but it's his usual
preference.)

Arsenicum is another remedy that really likes lemons and is brilliant in asthma. Any chance it might fit?

Family history? Is it supporting Phos in some way, too? If I see signs
for Phos, Tub and similar others seem to be not far away. Just as a
possible suggestion,

What about Med as an intercurrent? I have seen Med and Phos be very
complementary (and also very easy to confuse with Tub!).

Hi,

Thanks for responses - to clarify my dilemma:

I'm sure the Phos is good - it's been proving itself (not proving as
in proving, proving as in working!)
I'm also sure (from a lot more than the lemons...) that Bell is good
for this case. If the child gets another similar acute I'd prescribe
it without hesitation.
I don't want to switch to other remedies outside the Phos and Bell at
the moment because there is no need, and there's insufficient
indication - and why look when I have two perfectly good remedies, one
that's working well and the other that's clearly indicated.

My dilemma is that I have a case that is going well with Phos. so why
switch to Bell? But it is clearly indicated.

or has its effect been only to nicely clear the acute?

Veratrum album loves lemons. When trying to help someone in the middle of an asthma attack, I read Veratrum's asthma is improved by bending backwards. I had patient try it during next attack and the wheezing immediately ceased. That patient has done well on Phosphorus constitutionally and acutely with respiratory issues. Her son's done well on Veratrum album constitutionally and acutely with stomach, fever, and stress headache issues.

I haven't given the Bell yet, hence the dilemma. The acute is not
clearing as fast as I'd like, so I've instructed the mother to give
the Bell in a couple of days time. I think it should move him ahead.
