Leprominium
There was an article on Leprosy and its nosode by Colin Griffith, published
in Homeopathy International Dec 2000. You could try contacting them on
info@ukhma.powernet.co.uk- In it he refers to the work of Prakish Vakil,
published by the International foundation for Homoeopathy (1991 Professional
Case Conference) Good luck.

Leprominium
Lepr.
Signs
Nosode of leprosy.
In Biblical times leprosy was a name given to various cutaneous diseases,
esp. those of a chronic or contagious nature, which probably included
psoriasis and leukoderma.
Nowadays leprosy, or Hansen's disease, is understood as a chronic
granulomatous infection caused by Mycobacterium leprae and affecting cooler
parts of the body such as the skin. There are various forms, e.g. :
Anaesthetic leprosy, chiefly affecting the nerves, marked by hyperaesthesia
succeeded by anaesthesia, and by paralysis, ulceration, and various trophic
disturbances, terminating in gangrene and mutilation.
Lepromatous leprosy, in which nodular cutaneous lesions are infiltrated,
have ill-defined borders, and are bacteriologically positive; the lepromin
test is negative.
Tuberculoid leprosy, cutaneous, smooth, or nodular leprosy; a benign,
stable, and resistant form of the disease in which the lepromin reaction is
strongly positive and in which the lesions are erythematous, insensitive,
infiltrated plaques with clear-cut edges. [Stedman's]
"Although leprosy resembles many diseases, it nevertheless produces a state
of depression, either directly or indirectly, that is quite unique. This
offers us the clinical prospect of carefully individualising our use of the
nosode." [Vakil]
Proved and introduced by Prakash Vakil.

"For the most part, the symptomatologies of many nosodes have been
discerned in the clinical setting from the symptomatic reactions of patients
to the disease in question. Clinical evidence has shown that nosodes can be
quite effective when prescribed on these symptomatic indications. To develop
Leprominium, we collected signs and symptoms from 100 patients suffering
from various types of leprosy. We also incorporated signs and symptoms
reported by other reliable sources ... Two homoeopathic preparations of the
nosode were made: [1] Leprominium-H, prepared from a leprous nodule from the
ear of a patient where lepra bacilli were demonstrated microscopically, and
[2] Leprominium-A, prepared from the lepra bacilli cultured on the foot web
of the armadillo. Leprominium-A is used to determine the reactivity of
patients.
1 Leontiasis is a form of leprosy in which the face takes on a leonlike
appearance, characterised by ridges and furrows on the forehead and cheeks."
