remedies kill ants

Post by Helen Tucker »

I recently moved to an apt in Peru that has an ant problem. Tiny, little
black harmless ants got into my remedy zip lock bag and into a few Boiron
bottles that had lost their caps. I found a small pile of dead ants in that
zip lock bag.

When I shook out the Boiron bottles of all the half-eaten sugar remedy
pills, I dumped the sugar dust and nibbled pills onto the entrance of the
ant nest. An hour later, there was a small pile of dead ants around that
sugar dust and pills.

I had no idea remedies can kill ants. Have you guys ever heard of it? I
should think that would be an easy way to suggest that remedies must contain
something other than sugar and water for it to be lethal to any creature.
(I've never heard of an ant dying from eating sugar once doused with water.)

Anyway, wanted to share it cause it was interesting to me.

What was the remedy and what was the potency?
If the vital force is weak and the potency is very high certain remedies can be lethal. Remember what Kent said about inexperienced homeopaths using high potencies?

Interesting - I had just the opposite happen. Small ants invaded a box of remedies and the colony thrived. After that - none of the usual methods to 'clean' the area were enough to remove the little varmints. I've tried everything and have only managed to move the colony out and into a tree away from the house - but there is no stopping them. Of course, the lizards that eat them have enjoyed the bounty - and I think they are doing better too.

We use Aspartame to kill ants. A couple of small packets spread around
the ant entrance inside the house wipes them out overnight. Done this
for years, in the spring when they first come in. Over time have less
and less ants each year.

ahhhhhh..... the ants love my remedies!

I wonder which remedy killed them?

what I did to solve the problem is simple - mix equal parts (powdered) castor sugar + borax (or even baking soda). Sprinkle it liberally around the entry points for the ants. In a few days no more ants.

Funny but true story... I don't know about remedies and ants but two years ago when we were desparately trying to sell our house in Maine, we started having a problem with ants (and mice). The small black ones that don't bite but do cause a nuisance. I tried everything natural I could find and then tried the little baited traps... nothing worked... So at the time I was reading Masaru Emoto's book on energy in water and crystals (http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/e_ome_home.html) and thought... why not!
So I cut the head off one of the ants and glued it to the top of a toothpick. I then wrote on a small piece of paper "DANGER - Go back" and taped it to the toothpick. I then taped this at my windowsill above the kitchen sink where the ants appeared to be entering. I am not kidding - no more ants. Yes, it could have been coincidence or timing, or what have you. But I like to think the ants picked up the energy of the message written on the paper and skidoodled. I felt bad sacrificing that ant but I like to think he saved the rest. :-)
If anything, the story is worth a good chuckle.
Truly,
Erica
P.S. The mice on the other hand, loved the remedies and I used to find a few remedy balls stuffed away in their nests. I smiled thinking those must have been happy, healthy mice. :-)
