I sprained my ankle the week before Christmas trying to show my daughter how to do a cartwheel. (No laughing!). The sprain is bad and I still cannot walk on it. Every time I put pressure on my foot, the ankle "pops" again. (Left). This is an old injury for me - happened twice when I was in high school. I had a CT scan last week to confirm whether there was a break or not (didn't want to take Symphytum unless I knew the bone was in the right place). The CT scan showed thickening of the ligaments from the previous injuries but nothing else.
I took the usual - Arnica which reduced swelling and prevented bruising, and then Ruta which reduced pain significantly. I wondered if the old injury occurred because I have been on Palladium which seems to have cured my longstanding thyroid issue! And the ankle would have been the next major issue in my time line. Calc-C has worked well for me in the past however, each time I tried it for the ankle, I aggravate.
The problem is I believe I now have a blood clot in my calf. I am scheduled for an ultrasound at 3:00p today.
I have been taking Sulphur for the past week and a half to ward off the flu that is going around. If I change to a different remedy to address the ankle, the flu symptoms come back immediately. Otherwise, I feel fine. Well yesterday the pain in my calf worsened and when I stand and put my foot down, my foot turns purple. So I moved onto Calc-C yesterday and I could actually feel my ankle starting to strengthen or stiffen - not sure which! But a few hours later, I had sharp pains in my left ovary which then moved to my right. Then I had excruciating pain in my right ovary for about 3 hours. I then tried Lycopodium thinking perhaps I am going through the Sulph-Calc-Lyc trio which I have done in the past. But no relief. Then the flu symptoms started again (tingling in left nostril - stuffiness - head pain at root of nose - sour stomach). So I took the Sulphur again and the right ovary pain died down. However, that night, my calf pain increased and my left foot swelled.
So this morning, I entered "thrombosis, lower limb" and came up with Apis, then "purple foot", Apis again one of three. Then realized Apis has ovaritis and severe pain in right ovary! Bingo! So I just took Apis, 200c, 1 tsp water dose. My foot has already gone back to normal size, normal color, and I can feel slight tingling since taking the Apis this morning. I actually have complete range of motion in my ankle as well with just a bit of soreness! But I am too afraid to step on it.
So problem ...
... I don't want to take any blood thinners... I already have copious, clotted menses (sorry if TMI), and a blood thinner may worsen this... clearly I need a better chronic remedy. Lachesis looks high on my list. However, I also don't want to have a stroke or die! (Of course I turn 40 this month so this is just the icing on the cake). I also don't handle medicines well and have had numerous allergic reactions to medications.
My question is... has anyone had a patient that has had a blood clot and not taken the blood thinner - just a remedy? Or is that a ridiculous gamble?
All thoughts are welcome. However, please hold back on the "don't treat yourself" warnings. I have had one fantastic homeopath for years and have had two not so great homeopaths since moving. I'm still looking for the right fit and in the mean time, I feel more than comfortable treating myself. One of my strong points is an ability to pinpoint symptoms (both M/E and physical) and think objectively. Not to mention, I'm stubborn.

Thank you!
Truly,
Erica
P.S. In case it matters, Carcinosin was my constitutional remedy for 3 years.
