Interesting choice, Jeremy. What led you to Urtica? I was thinking of gout remedies, too, but there were no real sxs on which to prescribe a smaller remedy.
Peace,
Dale

3 reasons really

1 The owner told me that eating too many nettles could cause it, therefore homeopathic

2 Similarity of symptoms to gout, and Urtica is a good gout remedy, IIRC Low potency urtica was Burnetts favourite gout remedy?

3, and most importantly, It was Sunday, shops closed and miles from town anyway. Urtica was the only remedy at hand, No nux Vomica growing around Somerset AFAIK, probably some Belladonna but none that I could see at the time. Plenty of nettles ;-)

IMO small remedies can be good when there is a shortage of prescribing symptoms.

Jeremy

Thanks, Jeremy. Interestingly enough, I have a patient coming in today for gout, and I'll be sure to keep Urtica in mind. (Wonder if humans could similarly be affected by too much nettles tea?)
Peace,
Dale

I find Urtica 30 is often a good acute remedy in humans where the patient does not have the characteristic > cold of ledum and nothing else seems particularly indicated.
