STREP update - was Need advice regarding proving/aggravation from liquid dose please

Post by McPhee Family »

For anyone following along...
The mom continued to try to antidote throughout the week with Vicks and coffee icecream and it would only last a couple of hours. The girl continued to push out more symptoms until finally yesterday she woke up with swollen eyes and brown sediment in her urine. Even though these are both Calc-C symptoms, I knew this was not a proving and something was wrong so I instructed mom to go to the doctor. Mom took the girl to the ER last night and she has post-strep glomerulonephritis. The doctors said there is no way this happened in the past week but must have been from the sore throat she had 4 weeks earlier which was the original strep infection (undiagnosed) as it takes time for this to develop.
The Calc-C also stopped her bedwetting (for the 5 days since she took the dose) and completely eliminated her thumbsucking habit at the same time she was dissimilarly aggravating. And when the mom did the antidotes, her M/E was great - even better than prior to the Calc-C dose. So, it appears the Calc-C may be the right remedy (eventually - as Shannon mentioned) but there was a need for the Lachesis before hand. (I had originally thought Lachesis at the very first but the next day all those symptoms were gone so we ended up going with the Calc-C.)
There is also the possibility she has/had rheumatic fever from the Strep as they can detect a small heart murmur but it is very faint. She is asymptomatic as far as the strep or any other apparent illness (except the nephritis) is concerned. Right now she is hospitalized and being given a medication to lower her blood pressure which is elevated due to the fluid retention from the kidney issue. The whole case appears to be Lachesis right now however the mom is not in a place where she feels comfortable giving the remedy even though there is no allopathic medication for glomerulonephritis. Also, FYI, the doctors said the antibiotics would not have prevented the nephritis. She was given IV antibiotics last night for the Strep.
This case has been a soul searcher for me and quite frankly scared the you know what out of me. I hope other homeopaths can learn from this as well.
Truly,
Erica

Hi Erica,
What a tough one...
But I'm curious, why does mom not want to give her Lach now?
Some hospitals would say "no", and that would put her in a tough spot;
others would say fine, and I can't imagine how it could possibly hurt,
and wouldn't it be great if it helps?

Hi Erica, all,

I wonder how many of the severe "reactions to a homeopathic remedy"
have been things just like that!

Btw: THE remedy for strep throat is not Lachesis but Belladonna.

Regards

Luise
