Dear Susan
Your blood sugars are way too high for your own safety in avoiding complications in later life. I think I eat very well on my Low carb/low GI diet but I really don't go off it except within a meal. With me I even have to eat fruit within a meal as my blood sugar shoots up if I eat fruit between meals. On occasions when my blood sugar has been high and by that I mean never knowingly over 180 I have taken an Insulin 30 and that has sorted it . Stress will put mine up and have also noticed if I have a bug it will as well. Something I have not tried yet (one of my emergency measures I am keeping in) is the tissue (cell) salt combo kali sulph/Nat sulph/calc phos which I got Helios to make me up in a 9x as that was the lowest they could make a medicating potency up in. I'm afraid I can't remember where I got the info about this from.

Re: Diabetes control/ anyone know ....
I appreciate your concern and value your suggestions. This was an
atypical week, blood glucose wise, I think aggravated by the 200C I
took. Usually I can keep a 120-180 level with occasional lower and
higher readings. I'm aware of all the complications, my mother died
in early 60's from them. That's why I sought out Dr. Ramakrishnan.
He last gave me Nat Sulph 6x, daily for 2 months. I felt sick for
the whole week I took it then stopped. It's description seems to fit
for my liver which I feel is causing diabetes, not my pancreas.
Like with any chronic illness, you may get to the burn out stage.
Having been so strict with carbs since the 1970's, it's easy to do as
a teen through your 30's. Now when the miasms progress, some of us
lose that determination we had. Sometimes we need a break. Sometimes
you don't care anymore. I'll get motivated again to be super
strict.

I've only been doing the diet for 2 years or so and its not a problem so far except when I was in France with the continental breakfast. I will know to bring my own in future!!
If the problem is your liver do take herbal Carduus M . I took it for a few months and I think that is what stopped the problem of my liver sensing low sugar during the night and pumping glucose through to the blood as at one point my readings in the morning were higher than those before bed!!! Dr Roz suggested that to me.
I have learnt with diabetes that everyone is different and you have to find yourself what is good and bad for you by trial, error and blood sugar testing!! I found the http://www.diabetesdaily.com/forum/introduce-yourself/ so useful when I was first diagnose. Wonderful group of people.

Re: Diabetes control/ anyone know ....
Last night I had a 135 reading, 2 hours after eating pure Atkins: rack
of ribs, caesar salad, broccoli, garlic butter. That is down from all
day of 160. Now, when I awoke, 215. This must be a liver issue, but I
can't see how my liver is sensing low blood sugar, unless it thinks
relatively, being used to sensing high sugar levels as "normal", 135 may
seem low. Now, one would think my pancreas would burn out eventually,
but since I'm in strong dietary ketosis I have not eaten any carbs yet
so should not be pumping excess insulin, and if I was, I would feel it.
Now, the choice is do I eat carbs for breakfast or stay on Atkins for
breakfast.
This is why I think the syz. jamb is not really helpful, it's pancreas
focused and lowers urine sugar. Right now, I'm not testing glucose in
urine, just higher blood glucose. Which is why an understanding of
what is causing one's diabetes is essential.
Also, all my numbers are on diabetes drugs, upto 2200mg Metformin,
sometimes Byetta.
I looked at the Carduus M keynotes, some keynotes seem appropriate.
I've used milk thistle as herb as it's known to be great for the liver,
can even stop poisonous mushrooms from destroying a liver, but I
sometimes found it caused me problems. I'll try it in potency if it
might reset my liver sensors. What potency should be used? I see it's
available from X's to M's.
Thanks!

Dear Registered Homeopath Rochelle
Salaam ( Hi in Farsi )
Thank you so much for sharing us your experiences with Diabetes Mellitus. This is the special field I have been practicing for the last year, taking advantage of Devine Homeopathic Remedies.
A 64 year old woman has been one of my 11 diabetic patients. She used to take 3 metformin tabs and 3 glibenclamide tabs a day when I visited her. A thorough history was taken and a constitutional remedy was prescribed .
A very good response was observed and her vital force was increased, her
FBS and Hb A1c was checked regularly according.
After 2 months her 6 tabs were tapered and stopped. Her diet and
physical exercise were emphasized moderately. For 3 months she had been
tablet free and her 1st remedy was tapered and a second remedy was
started. She is still under my observation.
2 Insulin Dependant Diabetes Mellitus patients have been visited by me
and are taking their constitutioal remedies. One of them who is a 13 yr
old school girl, has shown a very good response, after 4 months of
taking her remedies. She was taking 18 units of NPH insulin. Now about
30 % i.e. 5 units of her need to Insulin has been decreased.
Thus we can help our diabetic patients healed and cured gradually by
means of constitutional remedies.
Best Wishes and Regards Homeopathic Diabetes Mellitus Consultant
