repeat doses LMs

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

It is the case of any potency of homoeopathic remedies that they should NOT
repeated whilst their action is causing improvement.

As I have said before, when your car engine is running you must not turn the
starter key.

So LMs are prescribed until the patient reacts.

It is recommended that one dose is given and the WAIT.
If no adverse reaction (esp if uncomfortable symptoms - skin symptoms
especially don't develop)
If you have hit the nail on the head and your are prescribing the similimum,
then things will start improving reasonably early on. However, it may take
a few doses before the action kicks in.

If you are completely off target, the patient will start to prove the remedy
and you should be watching out for such symptoms.

If you are near the similimum then a mixture of imp and agg would develop
and you should be watching out for these too.

(Who said homoeopathy was easy.)

In terms of repeating of LM doses, ideally, what we need to achieve is a
gradual improvement in the patient's health without any distress.

If I can use a graph from physics/electrical circuits, the mode of action /
performance of the remedy should be like that of a rectified circuit (one
that converts A/C current to DC current) Here the voltage rises and then
dips and then rises again and dips again and so on. In a well rectified
circuit, the dips are ever so small! This only serves as base analogy,
because if you regard the rise of voltage analogous to the improvement in
the health of the patient, we need the voltage to rise all the time to
achieve max health. This we do by the succussions between each dose.

We see these gradual changes across many forms and incidences in life, the
dilation of cervics before birth goes through such small steps, the snake
does not lose skin in one go, but gradually, the chicken does not suddenly
hatch. So slow and gradual and GENTLE is the mode we need to aim for.

I think once you start experimenting with LM you will soon get the hang of
it. Have some one more experienced with LMs to hand so that you can seek
advise on patient management as and when issues arise.

By the time you have done 10 patients, you should know what you are doing.

But never forget that the minimum dose is the best.
