Sycamore Seed Info / Proving

Post by Jennifer Ruby »

Hi!
Does anyone have information on Sycamore Seed? It's supposed to have an affinity for the Pituitary. My Radar, although the newest version, doesn't have the latest provings in my package level, and I think I need to find out more on this remedy.
Can anyone send this info to me?
Thanks so much!

After reading that so-called proving info – I would be quite wary of believing it – it seems to be full of biases -- and gives a ‘plant’ far more abilities than is ever likely possible for any plant, no matter how potentised it may be..................... but of course that is only my opinion.

Lets give the Sycamore some well deserved credit. It's the primary tree of NYC and as the song goes, if you can make it there you can make it anywhere...

Only 9/11 took this tree down, which saved St. Paul's Chapel, Manhattan's oldest public building in continuous use, and its remaining colonial church. http://www.saintpaulschapel.org/

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_q ... _n11473095 "Much of St. Paul's survival on Sept. 11, was attributed to a single sycamore tree in the courtyard. The tree sheltered the church from the falling debris of the Twin Towers. On Aug. 9, the church announced plans to preserve the stump and root system left from that tree and to turn it into a memorial. Its tale of survival earned St. Paul's the title, "The Little Church that Stood," which later became the title of a children's book about the church. Since 9/11, more than one million people have sought out St. Paul's from all over the world as a kind of pilgrimage while visiting ground zero. At last count, the chapel was averaging 1,920 visitors per day, according to St. Paul's official Web site."

http://forestry.about.com/od/ha rdwoods/a/sycamore_bio.htm "Some suggest it looks like camouflage. It is a member of one of the planet's oldest clan of trees (Platanaceae) and paleobotanists have dated the family to be over 100 million years old. Living sycamore trees can reach ages of five hundred to six hundred years. "

"Of great interest will be the many new homeopathic remedies that Martin discusses and he has many suggestions on how they can be of help to our evolving selves in this day and age. Remedies such as Sycamore Seeds, Purple, Berlin Wall, Moonstone, Holly Berry, just to name a few. He makes some interesting correlations with the old remedies we all know from our material medicas and a good argument as to why we should continue to be proving new ones"

Last week, I either visited a webpage of a Homeopathy magazine, and clicked on other linked articles (I can't find my history past last Wednesday...Frustrating!) or looked at a link on one of the homeopathy groups online..... but somewhere it had an article about a homeopath who had found that the Sycamore Seed had specific infinity for the Pituitary Gland.... I'm trying to find where I read that, and find more documentation on this.

Hello
Sycamore Seed is Acer Pseudoplatanus and has an extensive Mat Med in
Colin Griffith's 'The New Materia Medica' (as do many of the 'new
remedies'). He gives the following keynote effects for Sycamore Seed:
"the principal remedy for loosening bony structures of the body
particularly those in the head and in the pelvis when this is required
by pathology characterised by poor lymphatic drainage and circulation,
sluggish hormonal activity or chronic accidents held in tissue memory.
Its othe chief characteristic, the signature of duality, runs
throughout its picture and in every aspect of the mind, body and
spirit; it is a healer of anyone suffering from any form f 'split'
where the duality threatems equilibrium and development". The
pituitary gland is not mentioned spcifically, but you can see the
connection between issues of growth & development as well its potential
uses for twinned organs and siblings.
Hope this helps.
Sue

Thank you Sue!

There is quite a lot one can read about Acer Pseudoplatanus. It is not
always guaranteed that Sycamore equals Acer Pseudoplatanus, but Acer
Pseudoplatanus has some very interesting characteristics - if you read
about it, you may conclude it is a semi-tree that has been around long
enough to find and incorporate a lot wisdom about a lot of things. Read.

Yes Hennie, like I said there's a lot more info in Griffith's Mat Med
of new remedies. I just quoted the keynote effects he mentions in
the context of the orginal query re. affiliation to the pituitary
gland.
Best wishes
Sue
