constitutional [was: How to learn the Boenninghausen repertory and method

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Thanks Chris,
That's as I would have expected--other than not realizing he'd done so
much with animals!! So basically (it seems to me) he was taking note
of the temperamental constitution simply for the purpose of
establishing what had changed--standard acute-type prescribing. I
assume that when/if he had cases that had been ill since birth, the
approach would have to edge up to "constitutional", since "what has
changed since the problem began" would have to be replaced with "what
is changed from what we'd consider normal"--which of course might or
might not lead to addressing their innate constitution; could instead
be a layer of trauma or miasm. (I did change the thread name. :-) )
Thanks again,
Shannon

Thank-you Chris. As usual that was a headfull. I am having a hard time completely following you.
What is neo-Kentian prescribing? Essence prescribing? Vilthoukas? Who?

This is a miasm question, but , could you go into more depth as to why the underlying psora could be excited and even become life threatening if you don't carefully take off the top layer. What are your sources here?
Best,
Ellen

Hi Chris,
Yes, jumping to the conclusion that one method is the panacea that goes beyond all other options is easy to do. Especially when it suits your values. I don't think that very mental authors necessarily mean they are focusing on the only method. I often read in a modern author: classical repping produced xx, xx, xx remedies. None of them worked so I used my method and it was a miracle remedy. You have to assume that they first try the classical methods.

In the anxiety to master a "new" method, it is easy to fail to see that the classical method is not being substituted for the new method.
Best
Ellen
