Hi Susan,

Have you already tried any of the blood sugar-controlling
herbs--gymnema sylvestre is one, and I know there are others but don't
remember--and chromium? Do you have family members in similar
situation?

Shannon

All humans started out eating raw fruits and veggies in the Garden of Eden. And their average lifespan was over 900 years. Not until after the flood did people start eating meat..and it was probably raw, too.

Acai serving size of 3 grams where 1 gram is carb IS 33% carb. You
only use one or two scoops, thus 1 or 2 grams natural carb.
Certainly NOT a detriment to low carb dieting or glucose control!
It's the LOWest carb berry in nature!
Irene previously wrote: "I still have the maintaining cause of my
diabetes (cortisol-producing tumors)"

Since I don't have that, obviously, it's different. If you have
adrenal gland tumors, your diet sounds like you have been following
Schwarzbein's books on adrenal healing.
I'm hearing, you're not listening!:-)
I haven't rejected them, just included them for review in the vast
amount of info I've accumulated, learned and experienced over 30
years. Nothing argues with a blood glucose meter! A cup of
unsweetened soy milk with 2 scoops of Acai did not a glucose surge
make!

I've noticed when you feel "rejected" if people question your
absolute "facts", then you become arrogant and dismissive. Not a
good trait for a homeopath treating humans. I'm sure the animals
don't notice.

Personally, I feel your strict adherence to microwave cooking that
you've been doing for years, but not considering in your personal
epidemiology, is what could be causing your problems and AGE,
advanced glycation.

Oh, again the obligatory phony saluation used here by many so-
called "professionals" when their views are challenged and debated by
facts and/or unable to deal with others' opinions.

Been done in mice, and needs the TB vaccine ;)

A homeopathic or any alternative health cure would be hard to prove,
reproduce and would face immediate criticism and rejection by
standard medical community.

Besides, Type 1 and 2, there are Type 1/2, 1's who over the years
become 2, too.

Shannon,

None are diabetes cures, sometimes they help for the moment or with
continued use. I've taken chromium at times over the past 30 years.
Besides having no definitive scientific evidence of preventing
diabetes, it doesn't, I've found taking over 500mcg per day makes me
sick.

I've been using Gaia Herbs Glycemic blend of herbs for blood sugar.
It needs to be taken consistently to actually measure a blood glucose
trend down. One of the herbs in the blend I'm also using in MT form
prescribed by Dr. Ramakrishnan. Not sure how much difference in
action there is between an expensive homeopathic herbal MT and its
cheaper commercial herbal extract other than price.

Gymnema sylvestre is best taken if you're planning on eating a sugar
carb, it can slow or stop absorption in the intestine of it. I've
had problems with it.

White Bean kidney extract is sold as a carb blocker, only good for
starches, you take before eating a starch to block absorption.

True, not cures; an important point...

Thanks for the info about gymnema s. and white bean extract being carb
blockers--good information.

Re difference between homeopathic herbal MT and commercial extract, one
difference would be standardization. (The homeopathic MTs are prepared
to a precise set of instructions, but not necessarily so for herbal
tinctures.) However, if you can tell clearly the effect of the
homeopathic MT, I can't see any reason not to see whether a commercial
version also does the job; it might well.
one prescribed simply so as not to confuse things for the prescriber.
There can be substantial differences among similarly labeled herbal
tinctures.

Hi Irene,
Says who?
Sure - that's what they had on those specific farms

Average age
That was where you *they* lived.
Maybe not willingly:-) But I cannot see that those big grain companies
wrote the New Testament. When Jesus did his miracle he
multiiplied the bread, at his Last Supper he broke bread with
his disciples and the Lord's Prayer shows that 2000 years
ago bread was very much the staple food in to-days's Israel for
regular folk:-)

Even the poor tribes in

That was in your part of Africa.

a bad idea
:-)

Except you claimed this was the mainstay of your daily antioxidant
source:-)
We certainly differ then on how much antioxidant is significant to
constitute a totally anti-inflammatory diet - and that is where we
went separate ways.

My wishing you well on your choice of way - was genuine.

Wrong reference - I was referring to your claim that you have insulin
resistance unlike me.
An invalid claim.
But you used it to imply you should eat more per your ideas than mine.
I mentioned my situation and it was not adrenal cushings. I consider
that having carcinoids or miasms or whatever maintaining cause might
be there - is even MORE reason to do as much about diet as possible -
rather than thinking something like "I am stuck like this because I
can not remove the cause or - it is not my fault - or (some other
excuse)."

No.
I was not the one asking for advice on D-2:-)
I'm the one who found out how to bring down glucose levels despite
having a maintaining cause.

Namaste,
Irnee
