Ascending collective dose -
3 doses only in ascending potency 6, 30, 200 (Kentian Harmonic series) at
short intervals, say one every 4 hours. When you repeat, begin one up - 30,
200, 1m. Then 200, 1m, 10m and so on. This reduces the possibility of
aggravation in some cases and is good if the centre of gravity of the
disease is hard to locate - physical, emotional or mental.
Cumulative single dose -
repeated doses of ascending potencies until action develops, then stop
completely. Should be used only by alert and experienced homeopaths in acute
cases where clients can be supervised.
My notes, not my words.
Best wishes, Joy Lucas

Re: ascending doses
Perhaps you can show evidence that God exists Soroush! As i said, my notes
not my words. This is what alot of people are being taught, I am just adding
to the discussion. I await your comments on LM's and the single dose.

Re: ascending doses
Dear Joy
Perhaps when people have healthy bodies and minds they can see sufficient
signs of God to know he exists and can then go forward and achieve to their
best ability the higher purposes for which they were created - Aph 9.
However, I don't think minutus is the right forum for discussions on
divinity so I finish my comments in this regards.
As far as LMs are concerned, a number of people make the mistake of
repeating LMs too often.
My own way of using it, based on advice from some masters is that:
I give one dose and wait!
The pt is instructed to ring after 3-5 days (or earlier if symptoms change
or develop) and report.
If I do not suspect that the patient will antidote in any shape or form
(i.e. if no allopathic medication is taken and substances which we know
antidote are not consumed or contacted) then we wait to see how the
patient's symptoms change and act accordingly.
There are patients that I have only given three doses of LM in one year. The
bottle is kept sealed in a cool place.
If the patient is receiving allopathic medication, eg BP tablets or they are
on inhaler for asthma etc etc, then having evaluated that the patient has
managed to tolerate the introduction of the homoeopathic remedy, over a few
days/weeks the patient is trained to be more aware of their body and
recognise how long the effect of the LM dose lasts and as soon as they feel
the symptoms returning to take another dose. Again the concept being that
the absolutely minimum dose should be used.
If I get a 'no change' response from the patient and I am fairly sure about
my remedy I will ask the patient to take the remedy regularly for a few days
to see if any changes develop and also try and find out if anything is
possibly anti-doting.
On antidoting, I have a story which shows the effect to be true.
When I was at college a young boy (Grand mother West Indian and a nurse)
chronic case that was being seen by Sheilagh Creasy suddenly developed a
nasty cough. I was the link student and after a good case taking in
consultation with SC I prescribed an LM remedy. A couple of days later into
the treatment the mum rang to say there has been no change!
I double checked the remedy selection and was sure it was right. So I rang
back and asked mum if any other changes had taken place or if they had
prescribed anything else for the boy. "Nothing at all" she said, but then
she said her mum (the nurse) has tied a bag of camphor around his neck to
help with his cough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is apparently a
course of action that some West Indians use to treat coughs!!
So the bag was removed immediately and the following day she reported great
improvement!
)
I still await the justification of the split dose.

Re: ascending doses
Dear All,
Regarding the ascending potencies, I'd like to take your attention to the following footnote from Hahnemann's "The Chronic diseases" in the section Psora:
"If it, has first been given in the 30th potency it will now be given in perhaps the 18th, and if a repetition should, be again found serviceable and necessary, it might afterwards be given in the 24th. and later perhaps also in the 12th and 6th, etc., if, the chronic disease should have taken on itself an acute character. A dose of medicine may also have been suddenly counteracted and annihilated by a grave error in the regimen of the patient, when perhaps a dose of the former serviceable medicine might again be given with the modification mentioned above."
Here we see that Hahnemann insists on different potencies and not on the ascending or descending ones.
I will appreciate your comments.
Sincerely,
Feras Hakkak
