I realize I may get mixed responses, but I thought it may be of interest overall.
If you have a case that "used to" have a HUGE fear of snakes, but is no longer afraid of them, do you still use that as a consideration in determining the similimum? The fear was very significant. The person states both parents (despite living in the city) also had huge fear to the point if they saw a picture of a snake they would gasp. The person would have nightmares about snakes and even flew home early from a trip to another country because there were snakes there. However, since moving to a more rural area, has since confronted snakes a few times, and is no longer afraid of them and no longer dreams of them.
Is the previous fear still significant to the case or should it have no bearing since the person is no longer afraid?
Thanks for any thoughts.
Truly,
Erica
Still use this fear?
Re: Still use this fear?
I always use what are symptoms NOW (unless a previous causation)!! Maybe if you give the correct remedy the fear will return???

Re: Still use this fear?
i have to wonder if the fear of snakes was real. it may have just been
a socialized response due to parental training and not represented a real fear.
so when confronted with a real snake she did not freak because it wasnt a real
fear?
just a thought to keep in mind

Re: Still use this fear?
Thanks Rochelle and Tanya,
I do believe it was a real fear as this person left his honeymoon early because there were snakes there. It was only after repeated exposure the fear went away. Also, the person stated he believed the fear was somehow a manifestation of his father's death which would clearly seem like a Lachesis grief but I think it is a state that has passed.
Rochelle, perhaps it will reappear... if one believes in working through layers, I suspect we'll see it again.
Thank you for the assistance!

Hi Erica,
I think I'd be asking whether anything else changed when the fear went away - to check whether there was a symptom trade or whether it really was resolved.
Sounds quite Freudian if the fear had an impact on his honeymoon...
Gail.

Sorry for delay was on vacation... yes Gail, you are correct. He developed new symptoms at the time the fear (it seems) disappeared ... knee and shoulder arthritis.
Thanks for this thought process.
