An MD who needs guidance in homeopathy. Thanks!

Post by kimberlyanderson7654 »

Dear Group Members,

In tribute of my late friend, Kimberly, I mentioned a non-profit
foundation that is in its preliminary stage of development. I fully
expect it to have a monumental impact, for the patients and for
homeopathy in general.

I'm a licensed physican, and I am interested in input from homeopaths
about which teachers, authors, and schools are highly recommended in
both Europe and North America. India, too, as I have family who live
there.

Please do not take it against me that I am an allopath ;-). I may
have been slow in accepting homeopathy, but I hope to make it up by
learning and practicing homeopathy as best as I can.

I've had a paradigm shift in my understanding of homeopathy, and I am
interested in both learning it and what my journey may look like if I
am to ever become a good prescriber. Any comments would be
enthusiastically welcomed!

Thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely yours,

Kadeera -- close friend of the late Kimberly Anderson

Hi Kadeera,
Keep your critical mind - and if you do not have one, try to develop
it:-)

Study Hahnemann's Organon and his Chronic Diseases first - before
you read any interpretation of them. no matter if they be those of the
"old" homeopaths or the modern ones. There are about as many ways to
understand the Organon as there are interpretations of the holy
scriptures of the religions. If you read any of those interpretations
before reading the original your view will automatically get slanted.

After you have done that to the measure of your own satisfaction, read
severyl to many different interpretations, e. g. Kent's Lectures on
Homeopathic Philosophy and Stuart Close and...... and compare them
with your own conclusions from reading the original texts.

Only after that start school. Most schools will teach homeopathic
philosophy to start out with. This again will be an interpretation:
Either of the teacher, of the body of teachers at the school or of one
of the interpretations I mentioned above.

All this will temper your own ideas, of course, but there will be
something to be tempered:-). It will make you question your own
interpretation - but having had one to start with, it will also keep
you from accepting someone else's by default.

The Organon and the Chronic Diseases were written for the purpose that
the allopaths should understand how to use homeopathy - not to develop
another school of "weaving empty theories". So, if some of the
interpretations seem far-fetched to your allopathically trained mind,
the reason may be that the ICQ yinyang 96391801 <==========

I'd also recommend reading some introductory and acute care books, e.g.
(just naming a few that I'm familiar with):
- Panos & Heimlich "Homeopathic Medicine at Home"
- Lansky, "Impossible Cure" (describing her son's cure via homeopathy
from autism)
- Castro, "The Complete Homeopathy Handbook"
- Vithoulkas, "The Science of Homeopathy" (a concise "textbook" of
homeopathy)
- Dana Ullman has a number that would be of use.

You might like to browse some sites of homeopathic booksellers, e.g.:

www.homeopathic.com
www.minimum.com
www.wholehealthnow.com
www.simillimum.com (David Little's site--lots of great articles)

These sites (and others that don't leap to my mind) have articles and
resources that might interest you.

Doing some of this kind of reading will give you a better basis for
searching further.

Best wishes,
Shannon
