warts in children
I have been trying to reporterise a case of warts in a child – I have so much difficulty in understanding the rubrics in this section and am always afraid that I am not taking into account rubrics because I don’t really know what the description in the repertory actually describes.
I have a 13 yo male child that has warts on flexor surfaces of his knees and elbows worse Left side but are some on R as well. The are on crops of warts (I cant find a rubric that has crops of them) they are what I would call cauliflower like – hard base with little cauliflower like ends on the base – like looking at the rough surface of the actual florets in the cauliflower. They are what I would call quite typical of most of the warts that I have seen on childrens knees, elbows and hands (esp dorsum of hands and fingers – palmar ones are often a bit more smooth on top) but I don’t know which rubrics to use.
I consider that this child is possibly a Calc Iod constitution – past history of severe tonsillitis and adenitis with boggy large glands – I did not treat him at this stage but knew him as a young child - he ended up having a tonsillectomy after which he started to thrive and these days has no other health issues to report except the warts – which he hates with a passion.
Does anyone have any rubrics to suggest, decoding of the meanings of some of the rubrics under warts or verrucae, experience with treating these types of warts in children.
Many thanks in advance Pauline

Re: warts in children
Work in layers. That is,work with the present issue first. Maybe
Thuja. Then as you meet another layer on disappearance of warts, you
may re assess.

Re: warts in children
That would be allopathic - you need to repertorize a case of child.
( And it happens to include warts - a minor issue in the case.)

Re: warts in children
Hi Irene – yes you are right about repertorising for the child – yes that is what I have done – however in putting the warts into the repertorisation I am never sure which rubrics to use as many of the terms – like –seedy, cauliflower (I have also seen soft fleshy warts that look like a cauliflower ie the whole head of a cauliflower whereas these ones look the surface of a cauliflower), granular, jugged (Kent – or is this a typo for jagged?), withered, hard vs horny??
The main complaint is the warts – they have been to another homeopath for quite some time who has not been able to affect the warts – so before giving up on Homeopathy they decided to try another practitioner. I am trying to get a remedy that covers the whole of the child (and his warts!)

Re: warts in children
Have you seen this rubric?
Complete 2008, Skin;
warts; groups or crops, in: (208) , dulc[1], lach[1], nat-m[1], psor[1], sep[1], thuj[1]
So saying see http://www.hpathy.com/casesnew/marsden-causticum.asp where there is a write up of a case of warts of mine that disappeared.
Here the remedy was found because of the warts of mum's fingers when she was pregnant that disappeared as soon as she had the baby!!

Re: warts in children
Hi Rochelle:
My repertory books don't have this rubric. What is the full title of the book that you found this rubric in? Seems there is no one book to cover all.
tks bob

Re: warts in children
I would think of Silicea as well. I have treated crops of warts with
it in children; this time the tonsils and the "hates with a
passion" also point to Silicea...might be worth a try if there are
other corroborative symptoms

Re: warts in children
Try Mag Sulph 200 (Not Mag Phos)
One dose bedtime for 10 days & wait for 2 months.
Repeat if needed.
Warts get cleared only in 15 days to 4.5 months
Most Skin problems take long time.
