[H] Acute vs Constitutional Remedies

"Half the problem is there is no such thing as a "constitutional" cure. Your
constitution is your normal state of being. The other half of the problem is
that there are zillions (it would seem) of things like this in homeopathy
that are taught."

reply/comment:

It is a problem mostly in definition of terms... or a sort of
mis-application of the term...

When you consider that "the constitution" of practically everyone is
"flawed" by miasmic influence (chronic disease in homeopathic terms)

-and you consider that observations related to "the constitution" will
illuminate pre-pathological chronic disease

-and if you treat with this in mind

-then you may be treating someone along the lines of many people's
understanding of "constitutional" treatment.

Like many things in homeopathy and elsewhere, the terms need to be mutually
understood, & there has certainly been some misunderstanding and some
bastardization/trivialization- which contributes to homeopaths abandoning
the term, going on to "classical" -then abandoning that as it became
"polluted" and now we are "Hahnemannian" (and fighting a turf war over that,
even.)

Anyhow.

You may be treating someone who is "apparently" rather "well" -a relatively
healthy individual, but one in whom, by CONSTITUTIONAL signs and symptoms
(including what you are able to discern of family miasmic taint, and
personal health history) it becomes clear to you- that this person is
afflicted (albeit in perhaps a "first stage" or even "latent") with
such&such miasm. Your CHRONIC (disease) treatment of this person, then,
could easily be termed "constitutional" (and has been) -since, unless fully
explained to the uninitiated, this is what appears to be the case.. it could
even accurately be said that you were treating "a weak constitution" -with
weakness along the lines apparent by time-line & apparent
physiognomically... what you are "technically" doing if you're following
Hahnemann's teaching at it's deeper level is treating CHRONIC DISEASE.

Yes, very good Dave,
This is where Aph 5 is about.
We don't treat symptoms alone (aph 6), but also the underlying cause (aph
5).
This together leads us to the essence of the disease (aph 7).

Kind regards, Piet
