Remedy making machines
Hi there,
I have recently been looking at the costs of buying remedies and costs
of a remedy machine - and a machine makes financial sense. However I'm
not sure about the efficacy of the remedies and wondered if anybody
has used the Sulis remedy makers
(http://www.sulisinstruments.com/mk2.htm), particularly the new
digital ones which I understand are more precise in their remedy creation.
Any experiences/guidance much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Andrew (RSHom)

Re: Remedy making machines
there have been lengthy discussions about these machines in the past.
i believe the general concensus is that the remedies dont last as long on the
shelf and may not be as potent.
that being said, i would look at them again considering the onslaught of the
global implimentation of Codex which will remove almost all holitic products from
the public domain. we may find outselves using these machines if we are to
have any practice at all.
so i, too, would like to know of any current experience with these new machines.

Re: Remedy making machines
I have used one of these machines for 13 years, and have no reservation in recommending
them. I bought mine from Bill McGurk in the UK who is also a homeopath. The remedies
work, from my experience, but I don't make them to keep on the shelf, I make them fresh
just for that patient. The machines are also very versatile - ie one can broadcast remedies
at a distance, and this works very well too. One can also make remedies from unusual
substances like patient's blood, and other body fluids. I used it very successfully recently
for someone seriously ill in hospital with C.Diff. I think that it saved her life.
I am about to move house, so may not have the chance to engage in further discussion on
this topic for the next few days, but will do again in a couple of weeks.
Best wishes, Grace

Re: Remedy making machines
Hi, Andrew,
I've found that the remedies made with the Sulis machine are excellent --
very clear and precise in their action, although possibly less so in low x
potencies -- and they seem to last just fine, at least during the period
when a single individual might need a particular remedy. It's great in an
emergency to get a remedy immediately in the right potency. No matter how
many remedies are in the pharmacy, there are always those emergency
situations where one doesn't have the right one or (especially) the right
potency. At least in most places in the US, one can't generally just pop
round the corner and get a remedy quickly from a homeopathic pharmacy. Also,
with various restrictions on what remedies are available, it's reassuring to
have access as needed.
Looking at research findings about "resonances" as the basis for remedy
action, creating the correct resonance electronically makes sense,
especially when a remedy is needed quickly and is not readily available in
the traditionally made form.

Re: Remedy making machines
Friends,
I am very concerned about the discussion taking place here about the "remedy making machines." In the U.S., homeopaths need to know that homeopathic medicines are legally considered to be "drugs" (usually OTC drugs). Anyone (!) who makes drugs without a pharmacy license can be found guilty of a FEDERAL FELONY.
Not only is doing this illegal, it is unethical. Homeopaths need to realize that supporting homeopathic pharmacies is essential for the growth of homeopathy. One can rationalize in various ways why you should not support homeopathic pharmacies, but such rationalizations will lead to the demise our system. I realize that is not the intention of people who use remedy making machines, but it is the result of such actions.
I seriously hope that people wake up and smell the coffea...be weary of these machines for legal AND ethical reasons.
To honor disclosure, people who are not familiar with me may not know that my company (Homeopathic Educational Services) sells homeopathic medicines made from Hahnemann Labs, Boiron, Standard, Helios, and several others. However, whether I sold these medicines or not, my stance would still be as strong. I hope that others who do not have this similar conflict of interest will stand with me.

Re: Remedy making machines
Dana,
my concern is the advent of the Codex legislation which may make all our
remedies illegal. then what do we do? i think we go further underground in
order to survive. as you may already know, 2009 is the projected deadline
to have the entire world 'HARMonized' for the very minimal amounts of
supplements to be allowed to chose from freely.
what are your thoughts on this?

Re: Remedy making machines
I don't see where it's a legal issue, since from a *legal* standpoint
any machine-made remedy is not a homeopathic remedy anyway; HPUS's
definition is very specific, and mirrors the "traditional" method.
The other issues, tho, that's thornier...

Re: Remedy making machines
However Dana is correct - you may not call a remedy made in USA by
any method other than that specified in the HPUS (and made under
federal license), a "homeopathic remedy" and if you do, you will be
shut down by the Feds (and there may be other state penalties).
Nor may you dispense remedies to others unless you are a pharmacist.
If you sell remdies that you buy - they must be sold with the same
labelling exactly, as that used by the licensed remedy manufacturer -
relevant if you buy remedies and distribute partial amounts to a
client for example.
And there may be additional state pharmacy laws to follow
You may call what you make something other than a homeopathic remedy
- BUT you still need to comply with the pharmacy laws in your state -
and you can be seriously in trouble if you do not. It's just as
serious as practicing medicine without a license except it may be
deemed practicing pharmacy without one and/or practicing medicine
without a license.
Namaste,
Irene

Re: Remedy making machines
Dear Dana
Years ago I asked Sheilagh Creasy about these machines.
She warned me off them and said that they were not safe and a number of practitioners who had used them had suffered nasty diseases.
Do you have any information on this pls?

Re: Remedy making machines
This comes from numbers of radionic practitioners who allegedly
contracted cancer in the 60s and 70s- No data on this other than
rumour and reading about this in the odd article. Remedy making
machines are basicly radionic machines. Open them up and you can see
that there is no conventional science involved. Of course this doesnt
mean to say that they wont work for some people.
There seems to be a need to use some form of psychic protection when
using these devices. I know people who have used them for years and
are ok. I wouldnt use them myself though too often.
