My reply.. Repertory is useless without indexation of symptoms by Age and Sex

Post by DR. MUMTAZ ALI RIAZ »

Dear Collegues,

So many friends are not agree with my theory that
"Homeopathic repertories should have indexation of
symptoms according to "Age" and "Sex" otherwise these
are useless in both formats ,if this is in book format
or it is an sofotware", Example is attached herewith
which has been generated by me using Mercurius with
Complete Repertory 2008 software.

You can take a note as professional homeopathic health
care provider that i have used search word "CRETINISM"
to find symptoms/rubrics from the database and what i
found you can take a view in detail.

As you know that cretinism is congenital type of
condition found at birth and it is due to thyroid
defects. But rubrics found in our world,s largest
database of Complete Repertory 2008 are showing that
our client,s symptoms with reference to "Masturbation"
and "Sexual Excitement" and "answers incomplete but
correct"....
Now please anyone of you dear collegue may define what
is this? can you show me a infant with cretinism
involved in "Masturbation" like habits?

So if our repertories are designed according to age
and sex categorisatin we can trace such kind of
foolish rubrics and we can save our time.

I can present hundreds of examples in favour of my
theory.
Please continue this discussion,my challenge still
exists,

Hi Mumaz,
It is well recognized by homeopaths that our repertories/software are
less than perfect, in many respects. There have been intense and recurring
discussions about that, in general and for specific examples, on the
German-language list. One is forced to watch out for this - which
sometimes is not so easy.

Which again means that one cannot prescribe by repertory alone. In
order to do so lege artis (by the laws of the art) one has to refer to
the MMs or have an excellent knowledge of the materia medica of the
remedies one prescribes, so that we can select taking into
consideration that kind of knowledge.

As I said before: in no field of endeavor one can work on using
nothing but the index of the relevant books. I am sure you would not
trust a lawyer who just looks ad indices - no matter how busy he is.

As to your problem: there are books specifically for treating children
and in those you should find creticism and the relevant remedies for
them. Homeopaths can make their own private repetories for those.

There is, of course, no reason why not a repertory should be compended
that shows this information. It would not hurt - the homeopath has the
option either to use this information or not. But that would be l lot
of work and would make the software even more expensive than it is
anyway.

Regards

Luise
