in searching for some non-toxic anti-tick lawn solution
i came across this information. it is actually an entire
book on pest control. there is a chapter on ticks, etc with
some interesting information and protocols for control that
are fairly simple.
http://www.stephentvedten.com/index.htm
click on the tick, mites, etc chapters (34 pp).
there is also a product Safe Solutions is the product that
the author sells. i spoke with him (he is in Michigan) and
found him to be very helpful.
the cost for his safe solution product is not very expensive
as it goes a long way (1 oz/gallon of water in a hose sprayer).
diatomaceous earth (de) is also very useful as it repels the ticks
from the area.
thought this would be helpful to all who ask about tick control
for pets and humans alike.

Tanya, what a wonderful resource! Thanks for posting it!! (In addition
to the products, there's very extensive and useful information about
the critters and how to make the environment less appealing to them.)

Re: lyme and tick control
yes, i was very excited to find this. i have been moving into
environmental controls for a living--mold, voc's, pests, etc.
not anything i would ever have thought to attrack me. but
i always find interesting information in anything i do and always
look for the holisitic approach to problem management.
there are a number of products on the market but are only
available to the trade and/or are very expensive requiring that
one buys in bulk. not very useful for the general public. that
is why this one caught my interest and so i explored it a bit
further. i hope this proves to be good info for people.
