APIS and signatures

Post by Minervabks »

It is often stated that homoeopaths should not go overboard with signatures
but quite honestly it is a lot of fun and helps you to remember the remedy.
It gives you a line to hang the symptoms onto. We don't all have superhuman
memories. Quite honestly I believe that the resurgence of homoeopathy had a
lot to do with this direction. Vithoulkas's Essences had a massive impact at
the time.
Choosing Apis as a remedy to criticise signatures is a big mistake as you can
have a field day with this one. Dave did not choose wisely at all.
Gutman has a chapter devoted to Apis in his groundbreaking essence book.
There was also a useful article in the journal of the Society of Homoeopaths
'The Homoeopath'. This was by Michael Thompson Vol 6 no1 (Autumn 1986).
The organ that the bee uses to sting is a modified version of the Queen's
egg-laying tube (affiniity ovaries and fallopians). Salt (Nat Mur) antidotes
the sting (Apis). When fighting virgin Queens emit a very high pitched call
which can be heard from several yards (Shrieking). It is a mainly female
remedy and of course Queens and worker bees are all female. Bees are very
restless and may appear very busy but are not very focussed - We see this in
the provings which show clumsiness and annoyance at being disturbed. Dreams
in Kent include:
Flying
That he is a girl (!)
Quarrels
Journeys
Business
Busy
We could go on of course. Ideally we would have provings from Honey Bee
drones to compare and maybe other types of bees but that would be greedy.
