Can someone advise me of the dosage when giving pertussis as a
preventative in a whooping cough outbreak? How many times is the
remedy given?
with thanks,

Re: pertussis in epidemicus
Hi Karin,
One resource to check out is www.d-n-h.org (the Do No Harm Initiative).
Clicking on "Immunization: children" and then FAQs, gives this:
"#18: What can I do if there is a disease outbreak for which my child
has not yet been given the preventative remedy?
"A: Disease Outbreaks: Short-term immunity can be provided during
times of local outbreaks or epidemics. Your child can be given a 200C
pilule of the appropriate remedy for this purpose. This dose is to be
repeated once a week for four weeks. If your child has already had this
remedy as part of the CHIP program, you may wish to further reinforce
their protection giving a 200C dose once a week for four weeks."
Lots of interesting reading at that site!
Best wishes,
Shannon
