I need help repertorizing a case please. Especially 1 hiccup every 15-20 minutes while in school.
15 year old female. Active in sports loves school. Many friends. but not really close to many. Good student with good grades. Very stressful activity level. Always on the go. Good family home.
Hx of mono and chicken pox. Good clean diet mostly organic. Takes juice plus daily.
BP 110/78 Pulse 87 ireg
Tongue more red purple with thorns on the tip. But if on her menses pale purple thin white coat moist raised edges.
CC Hiccups several times an hour 1 at a time since November 07. It's like clockwork every 15 to 20 minutes while in school. Worse after eating lunch but can happen at any time. Doesn't happen when playing sports. Can happen when she sleeps but it doesn't wake her up. Feels like there is a lump in my throat like a hiccup got stuck there and won't come out.
Sighs frequently.
She has tried many techniques from holding breath to drinking water upside down and other home remedies tried to no avail.
Blackouts on rising everything turns black and feel dizzy and it s like I'm spinning to the left but falls to the right never hit the ground no nausea, nothing else happens with it. Clears up on its own in about 5 seconds. Can also happen when she stands a long time.
Headaches throbbing in my head starts in the back pain scale 1 mild 10 severe 7-8/10 daily. Sometimes occur for a few minutes to hours or the whole day. Sometimes on the sides and vertex worse right side. Sometimes worse right side of occiput.
Thirsty more during the headache for water cold without ice preferred. Asked for room temp while in the office.
Happens mainly when I do intense work but can happen anytime.
Worse morning around 10am she likes her French class, which she is in at that time. She seldom gets the headaches on the weekends.
No headaches or hiccups while playing La Crosse or other sports.
No nausea sometimes I want it to be quiet. Light doesn't bother me.
Doesn't get more dizzy with headache.
Drinking or eating doesn't affect the HA. Doesn't desire hot or cold rags. No photophobia. Doesn't desire it to be dark.
Hiccups or headache never wakes me up.
Glasses checked and correct Rx. Very myopic since preschool.
Stool 2-3 times a day well formed easy to expel.
Menses ireg frequently 2 x a month like her mom. Cramps 2-3 days b4 menses stops when bleeding starts. No pain at ovulation. Started 2 years ago at 13 yo.
Symptoms started after her grandfather died in October 07.
I gave Ignatia 200C single wet dose in office
She reported a week later that after the second day the dizziness, lump in her throat, sighing and headaches had disappeared. The hiccups were still there and getting more frequent during the day and night but still only 1 hiccup at a time.
She called me today a week later to say the headaches returned they are still 8/10 but only last 15 minutes instead of hours or the whole day.
Headaches throbbing in my head starts in the back doesn't come up over the top anymore or on the sides. Now only1x a day starting about 10am in French class which she loves. Lasts 15 minutes only at school trying to do close-up work no other time. Wants to do nothing during the headache but finishes her work in class. She holds head sometimes with both hands on temples even though pain is in the back.
She has a tendency for her voice to start strong and clear then taper off into a mumble at the end of the sentence. I frequently have to ask her to repeat. After a few moments she also gets a gravelly quality and weaker like someone in pain or very ill but denies being in pain or ill at that time. I'm wondering if she is trying to solicit sympathy with the voice change.
Mom is very concerned and desiring instant results.
Thanks,
Sunny

Re: Hiccups one at a time and headaches
The purple color is a "general" symptom -- should have pretty high value.
Could these "individual hiccups" qualify as "eructations?" In that case, it would be useful to know if anything comes up.
Also, "THROAT SENSATION LUMP," a relatively large rubric, and:
STOMACH - BALL; sensation of a - rising up into throat
asaf.mrr1,rb2 caust.br1 kali-ar.rb2 Lach.k lyc.c1 lyss.rb2 Mag-m.hr1,rb2 Senec.a1,k
With the purplish color, Lachesis might be worth looking at???

Re: Hiccups one at a time and headaches
Hi Sunny,
I know you did not ask this, but:
This seems to be a classical, textbook case of having to repeat the
same remedy!
This textbook advice reads somethin like:
A remedy improves the condition for a while, then in comes back but
not as severy as before. Then one should repeat the same remedy -
possibly a different potency of it. You could also dissolve the
globuli in water, stir or succus it a few times (thereby altering it a
little as compared to the original dose) and then have her take the
entire solution.
