Re: proving of ginger
A friend used Angustura 12c to quit her very heavy-duty coffee
addiction--it worked *great*! She marveled about not getting the
headaches she'd usually get when she tried to quit coffee, and she just
stopped having any interested at all in it. She had 12c and 200c, but
I *think* all she ever used was a few doses of the 12c. (OTOH lemon in
hot water sounds yummy!)

Re: proving of ginger
Hi Shannon,
No, it seems they were done with the tincture.
Yes, the modern ones - but I am concentrating on the old provings.
There we also have this in Hughes' MM. Unfortunately Hughes only lists
the provings done with potencies up to C 6 or so (he did not believe
in higher potencies. Also unfortunately, afaik his MM is not available
as software.
I'll come back to that in a little while - I'll start the "PR for my
book" with demonstrating an excerpt of the Lyc. provings:-)
Yes, I see your point (and agree:-)
Not specifically - thence the idea of my book.
Can you not sort it out with your Radar or MacRep. (I do not have any
of those softwares, so I have no idea of what you can do and what
not).
Well, what do you suggest I do to make it "good reading":-) After all
- it would be just a Materia Medica, listing symptoms.
It would probably even be worse reading than the ones existing, since
there would be but few real dramatic symptoms - those in our MM'S are
mostly from poisonings and to a lesser degree from provings of the
crude substance.

Re: proving of ginger
I guess that is so for all who have shown interest.
I cannot use all of them (would be a huge book) - so why not give me a
wish list of what each of you would like to have covered.
You can use the listing of abbreviations in Kent to pick them out - I
suppose we all have a "Kent". Or the Boericke - the latter would have
the advantage that the common names are given in the text.

Re: proving of ginger
Dear Luise,
I am not giving you an assignment or asking you to work for me.........it would be you YOUR work, your book, your brainchild, so you should put in it what you feel/know would be of interest or useful and the way to do it.
I just published on lulu my second, completely modified and enhanced version/edition of my book on Gemmotherapy, now called Dynamic Gemmotherapy in which I have tried to integrate all the different approaches to the same plant used in Gemmotherapy, which widens and enhances the use of those herbal remedies, as they include their indications in homeopathy, TCM, Ayurveda, aromatherapy and traditional herbal medicine.
That is the way I see remedies, a bit like Vermeulen in Prisma, Monera and Fungus but here limited to a category of remedies within a herbal subspeciality.
That is how *I* would do it, but I would be more interested to read YOUR approach to those remedies as I like very much to look at information through the eyes of an author, then only decide what and how I use it for myself.
I am happily basking in my own thoughts and knowledge, but I need the stimulation of other points of view to start my thinking process and my further evolution.
See what I mean?

Re: proving of ginger
Hi Luise,
This could be quite a fun exercise, but if it is aired around too much
someone might beat you to the publishing with it -
........ I haven't looked up Kent because I don't think the newer ones
will be there, but off the top of my head: vanilla, strawberry
(fragaria), chocolate, lemon, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, cloves, cashews?
and ginger of course. I'm going for the 'yum' effect I think.

Re: proving of ginger
Hi JROZ;
Sorry, I expressed myself wrongly in my previous letter and led you
to misunderstand.
I meant the wish-list from ALL who might be interested, including you
(if you wish to do so).
It is not a matter of my approach - that is set in my mind already:-)
I'll say more about it in my other post - changing the subject to
provings of herbs.

Re: proving of ginger
think she was trying for that... (She later started drinking some
coffee again, tho apparently it hasn't been a problem since?) She
drinks all sorts of things (ginseng tea, various herbs, some coffee),
so she's probably proving them all, left, right and center! (I do have
some resistance to the idea that danger lurks all around us...)

Re: proving of ginger
Hi Shannon,
Yes, just as we are probably proving water, Oxygen + Nitrogen + Co2
and all our food all the time:-) After all: most people have some
foods that disagree with them one way or other. With me it is water.
So where is the difference to "proving" them?
All life is a risk.
(I do have
With me, as you know, this resistance extends to potentized
substances:-)
This is really the idea behind my potential books (if no books, then
it will be equivalent material online) - showing up the absurdity of
homeopaths fears of people "proving" potentized remedies. This
material will show to those who are even in the least prepared to see
that many of the herbs, spices and other non-poisonous substances they
consume or recommend to their patients have in their provings as
non-potentized substances caused more serious symptoms than potentized
substances - low potency or high.
At least that appears to be the case so far as I have come in my
research. I'll have to see what comes up when I have them properly
arranged.
