It is most important that you sort your diet out. I am not overweight but immediately I realised I was starting with Type 2 diabetes I had my blood sugar checked and then got myself a blood testing meter (free from the company that supplies the sticks) . I then went on a strict low carb/low GI diet completely free from sugar and greatly reduced the amount of fruit I ate only eating 1 piece with a meal. The breakthrough with me and blood sugar was drinking 6 cups of green tea a day. After 1 week my blood sugar levels dropped dramatically. Now my levels are so good I wonder if I have reversed the diabetes- doubtful because if I do slip too far from my diet the levels do go up!!
I can't comment on the Calc Carb for your husband as I know nothing about him. If he won't go to a homeopath the best thing you can do is read up about the remedies. Sulphur is another big Insomnia remedy probably bigger than Calc Carb. I would also discount any remedy in the combo you bought as they have obviously not worked!!
