Re: Itching healing

Gail asked:-

I make it with 1/2 and 1/2 Hypericum and Calendula tinctures. If you are using herbal tincture like I do then sure dilute it as the alcohol in the tinctures will make it sting badly. I usually give it to patients saying "use it like dettol"!!
Re orally - I do use it in a gargle with Myrrh added if that is what you mean. Taking it orally I am not sure about as Hypericum is St John's Wort and would be used for depression and Calendula for healing but I would rather use it in potency for that.

All tinctures are made the same way, they are herbal infusions...Hypercal is a combination of Hypericum(st john's wort) and Calendula( marigold).

I have a recipe for making Calendula tincture if you're interested, you can use fresh or dried flowers.
For washing an open wound, I would take a 1/2 cup of boiled water and add 5 drops of tincture.
I don't use them internally but I believe you can.

To make Hypercal tincture, you combine Calendula and Hypericum MTs or tinctures. Always dilute before applying, because the alcohol will irritate broken skin. I suppose it could be taken internally, but then you'd have a combo remedy -- and what would be the indications for it?

Hi,
For local/topical applications for itching, I would add Symphytum too.
Symphytum+Calendula+Hypericum in equal prortions of MT.
I found, symphytum alone gives instant relief(Not cure) for hives.
There could be plenty hatemails opposing this.

Thank you for all the input, I appreciate all the posts.
I know I gave little information but that is all the patient was able to give (which some Staph patients would do)

The itching was caused by the tape that was placed directly on the incision. I cannot see the logic here.

I gave the patient Staph as the mental emotion was covered as well as being one of the first after surgery rx.
She is doing very well, full of energy and her incision is not only doing well but she never had any pain after the Staph! Pretty good as the incision is about 20 cm long!
Now she is considering homeopathy....
Thank you again
Lucy
