Dear Erica,
My friend is MUCH better today. We have been out for lunch and been
for a long walk. She seems to cough when she comes indoors but the
cough is more productive. Her appetite still is not up to her normal
voracious state but at least she is eating. She has just arrived in
our room for a cup of tea rather than lying down as I expected her
to. Also her voice is a lot stronger. I don't think she believes it
waas the Hepar although I told her that 2 antibiotics wouldn't have
done this!!
Hope you are better soon.

respiratory just a tiny cough sporadically (but I started the remedy
at the first sign of being ill). Others have been very congested
with horrible cough (varying from croupy and dry to very loose,
rattling with mucus). Last night my main symptom was dry mouth with
no thirst at all (Bryonia, 3).
be down for the count! Otherwise, just fatigued. Haven't felt
irritable, just want to lie down and be still which after 4 days
turned to a restlessness in bed last night. Baby continues to play
and be happy with dose of Bryonia (1 tsp, 30c) if symptoms creep up.
Son's rattling, loose cough (no pain in chest) amel with Bryonia,
30c, 1 tsp.
certainly does ameliorate as soon as I take it, as it has for most
of my consults (the others, Pulsatilla). I will have to keep
Gelsemium and Hepar in mind if I fail to get completely well soon!
have responded to Kali Bich but the symptoms obviously have to fit.

For what it's worth, just re-read Kent's MM on Bryonia... those in the North with colder type climate may need Gelsemium while those in the South with hotter or damp weather will do better with Bryonia... makes sense... we are in FL. 85 degrees yesterday!

Hi Theresa,

Thanks. I just hope I don't catch this bug from her:-)

What is annoying her most now is the cough. So what are you doing
for that? Phos 6 is helping but doesn't last long. I suppose I could
go to a 30..... I will see what she is like tomorrow. Thre is still
some loss of appetite but she is soooo much better!!

starting with aches and sore throat is doing the rounds here
including me. I took rhus tox to start with and moved on rapidly to
natrum mur which did the trick. 48 hours rather than several days
ending in a cough which others have expdrienced. So far so good.

Hard to find genus epidemicus on this infection IMO. Mental symptoms are
different for different cases - leading to different simillimums. The
five cases I have seen so far needed:
1. Sep
2. Kali-c
3. Bry
4. Started Sep ended Bry.
5. Sep then Phos

A dose of Aco 200C would prevent that as it nips things in the bud:-)

Oh hooray! That is wonderful news - just in time for the new year!
I'm much, much better today as well. However, hubby was stricken this a.m. - gave one dose of Bryonia, he was out for 3 hours and woke up feeling fine! Oldest complained of headache, sore throat, "feeling flu-y," gave her one dose, and she's out playing with friends now.
UGH - flu season... well hopefully we've seen the big bad one for the season!
Hope she continues to improve! I'll have to remember Gels for my friends in the north!
Truly,
Erica

Hi Rochelle
I couldn't answer that because my cold didn't really get that far (yet) but a new year house guest has arrived with it and is responding well to causticum. Personally I thought it sounded like Pertussin but she chose causticum...
