Cat Symptoms

Dear Irene

A cat has adopted us! He come every day to the office and miows until we
let him in.

He has a tag on his neck saying on special diet - do not feed me! I have
left water him, but never seen him drink.

He appears to have lost a lot weight as he has a hanging pouch on his belly.

He rests most of the time on a chair and sleeps - he has been sick once
vomiting freshly eaten cat food and he has brought up hair balls.

We have observed him retching but he has not brought up anything.

What is his diagnosis and what remedy is indicated.

I am not a cat person, but he looks to be an old cat.
