Help from Repertorium Virosa

Post by Jean Doherty »

Main antimiasmatic remedies
BELL, SULPH, MERC, CALC, Rhus-t, Lyc,
Ars, Acon, Bry, Nux-v, Puls
Have permission to post.
With Ardevan's assistance in choosing remedy for this autistic child with a number of congeniital abnormalities whose Mother had RV { Ardavan pointed out that this was the probable virus ]at 6 weeks i pregnancy.
I chose Pulsatilla as the child always looked at the Mother when asked a question. Probably also sukky and not good in heat but these were not very clear.
It has taken a long for me to get feedback as so many other things going on in family. Today follow up and statement from Mother about how useful it is and Mother carries it with her to use when things go ballistic. Generally the last few months have been easier. The main problem at the moment is tiredness .
Previous mail in June
Dear Jean,
Do you know the symptoms of the mother during pregnancy in detail? What kinds of congenital abnormalities are present? If you send these symptoms, I can analyze the case with Repertorium Virosum to see what is the closest related miasm.
The miasms commonly responsible for congenital abnormalities and physico-psychological retardations are
RBL (Rubella)
CMV (Cytomegalovirus infection)
MMP (Mumps)
RV (Reoviral infections)
EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis)
WEE (Western Equine Encephalitis)
Gelsemium is not a good simillimum for any of the above dynamic states (It is one of the simillimums for NPH (Nipah), PIV (Para-infuenza), PLV (Polio), STLE (Saint Louis Encephalitis), TBE (Tick Borne Encephalitis) and WNE (West Nile Encephalitis) which usually do not lead to congenital abnormalities).
Kind regards,
Ardavan
Dear Jean,
Now we have a key point!
Our previous list was:
RBL (Rubella)
CMV (Cytomegalovirus infection)
MMP (Mumps)
RV (Reoviral infections)
EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis)
WEE (Western Equine Encephalitis)
These cover the general psycho-physical retardation.
Oesophageal atresia is only seen in reoviral miasm esp RV3. Reoviral infections can cause different types of congenital abnormalities, different atresia, they can affect the nervous system.... The primary infection in the mother can be subclinical and with few symptoms. The mother might have been infected by a reoviral infection leading to fever and prostration. It is interesting to know that they may produce very limited symptoms during primary infection!
Now what is expected from the treatment here? Of course there are some static changes that can not respond to homeopathic treatment but the dynamic alteration may still persist which need to be treated. The psychological problems can be solved by homeopathy.
The remedies related to Genus Epidemicus of RV3 are:
BELL, SULPH, MERC, CALC, Rhus-t, Lyc, Ars, Acon, Bry, Nux-v and Puls.
What is now needed is individualization of the patient and choosing a remedy that covers both this list and the result of repertorization.
You are the best one to decide for individualization as you have seen the child but with self harm aspects, anxiety,... maybe Ars can be a good choice but consider the above list and I think that you can still work on the individualization. The point is just to take the dynamic 'live' symptoms and not to take the rubrics related to the outcome of static damage and secondary reactions to the underlying anxiety. I beleive that this case needs LMs with repetitions.
Warm regards,
Ardavan

Lack of ability to relate to other children, repetitive behavior, self harm, exceptional ability in some areas , music geography,
I need to work on this, Thank you Jean
Dear Jean,
You wrote that the child had survived enormous problems. What were those problems? What are the autistic manifestations?
Regards,
Ardavan

Thanks for posting this, Jean.
I'm working with a child whose autism is very similar, and whose birth defect was ectopic anus. She's doing wonderfully well on Merc. I hadn't even thought of the viral patterns (have to get my thinking repatterned, obviously...).
