Nosodes and animal matter

Hi List,

some time ago I wrote on the list that in Europe nosodes may be
prohibited - Wiet (I think it was Wiet) corrected and Shannon asked
for more info.

So I dug futher.

Wiet was right - they are not prohibited.

She also was right in saying that the problem is: the substance the
nosodes are made of are by new legislations hard and very expensive to
come by, which is why some companies have stopped making them.

While bad enough, THIS HOWEVER IS ONLY PART OF THE STORY - THE REST IS
WORSE.

In most of the European countries it is now required that material for
nosodes and an increasing number of material from animal sources has
to be autoclaved!! before processing. Otherwise
producing/selling of the remedies made from it is prohibited.

Using it has not yet been prohibited - but since for some time now (at
least in Germany) there has to be date of expiration on the bottles
and beyond that we are not supposed to use the contents, the remedies
made the old way will disappear anyway.

So - it is up to you individually to decide what this will mean for
homeopathy, whether you consider that remedies made the new way will
have the same indications or whether we can trash all our provings of
them and at the same time throw away the clinical experience over the
centuries.

I should strongly advise everyone to find out from the manufacturers
whether the remedies they sell are made the "new way" - and to go on
asking this every few months. We were not informed about the changes,
and I doubt that this will be different in other countries.

Below a translation of part of an email by a representative of one of
our homeopathic associations, who is in charge of the pharmacy issue
for that association. It is an answer to my enquiry on the German list
and to some comments by others:

noch der Spender mit dazu autoklaviert!

Well, this makes the "freedom of therapies" a bit theoretical...
Do you know, Luise, what the rationale is, to justify the idea that
nosodes must be sterilized before they can be potentized? Since there
cannot possibly be any infective ability in higher potencies?
