Children who aren't adopted

Post by lynnpax »

Most people do want babies and they will go through the expense and jump
through hoops to get a baby from Asia or Mexico rather than adopt an
older child.

Most of the boys & girls (if they survive to adulthood - men & women) on
the street selling their body
are victims of incest or the foster/child care system.

Add to this the fact that many children given up are sick (HIV, TB or
w/an illness that the parent/s could not cope with) or they were born
with brain damage due to alcoholic or drug addicted parents.

Most country's foster care & orphan institutions are a scandal - in NYC
for instance, children are often housed in offices till they find a
foster family as there are so many children who need care.

In the US once an orphan becomes 18 yrs old they no longer qualify for
assistance. Imagine what it would be like to have NO FAMILY, nothing to
model as far as life choices, no profession and being on your own.

These poor children are easy marks for pimps, who know how to use the
child's vulnerability and need for approval/family, to take advantage of
them.

.....most women? How do you 'KNOW' this? Then why do they put up their
children for adoption? There are many contradictions here. I live in
England
and yes there are thousands of children 'available' for fostering and/or
adoption but, according to agencies I speak to things are not so bad. So
so
many find loving homes and new families. I think it is best not to make
gross over or under statements about this.
..... not true here, many older children in fact form the majority of
children available.

--and that leaves a lot of children left in the "care" of woefully
inadequate state facilities--and foster homes. It is not, by any stretch
of
the imagination, a good life.

.... again, this might be your opinion only.
There are many children I know of who are glad to be away from their
birth
parents.

COULD WE PLEASE just get back on topic ??

I was:
adopted by stepfather
physically & sexually abused by stepfather
removed from home by courts
ordered into foster care
housed in kiddy-jail awaiting placement
further abused by "the system"
drug user at early age
am "feminist" (to a great extent)
AND:

I DON'T want to hear about it here!

PLEASE post on topic or DON'T post- take it to PRIVATE EMAIL or JOIN another
appropriate list !

Have some consideration for ppl, some of whom (like me) receive many
emails/day and would prefer to not have to wade thru lots of off-topic
contributions.

thanks !

I second that emotion.
What this sort of discussion can only ever do is display the
sensitivities and insensitivities of the protagonists.
Being an unbiased observer means just that , being unbiased. That's what
homeopaths have to develop.
It doesn't matter what we as homeopahs think on any particular issue ,
it matters only what the patient thinks.
We are not here to lecture the patient on ANY issue, only to observe and
cure.
You will find that as patients get healthier their attitudes change of
their own accord without any prompting.
It's quite one thing to discuss a patients problems or attitudes in
relation to their remedy, quite another to indulge in indignation or
self rightiousness.

Empowerment is a big issue for many patients. A homeopath needs to be
aware of this. Respect goes a long way in this.
