When there is a problem with a child I have been advised to look at the
pregnancy and birth of that child. The Mother of V , age 10 is bringing her
to see me next week. The presenting condition is that since a baby , she
"never stopped crying". As she grew up that has changed to moaning and a
very negative outlook on everything in life. She finds nothing amusing and
hardly ever laughs. Mother is concerned that she does not and will not enjoy
life. I asked in an E mail about her pregnancy and she replied as follows.
I wondered what rubrics I could take from this pregnancy. Grief , fear of
losing loved ones, fear of being bullied (rubric?). Obviously I will see
what comes up when I see the child. I would be interested in the thoughts of
others.

rubrics from mother's pregnancy
Re: rubrics from mother's pregnancy
Hi Rochelle, obviously it would depend on what emotion was uppermost and
again obviously you have ailments from fear, anticipation, indignation (if
it was aimed at her husband rather than fear for her kids), rudeness of
other, reproaches etc etc.
There is also a rubric - Brooding over things forbidden (Synthetic) with
only one Rx I think = Plumbum, and considering the state of the child which
you mentioned this looks inclusive.
Best wishes, Joy

Re: rubrics from mother's pregnancy
An interesting rubric Joy and thanks. I will have to see what I make of the
child.
I have just had an interesting new case in that I would like to know if any
others would have handled it any differently. Will post it as it is only
short. Hopefully tomorrow I will find the time to look at the new online
case which looks like the sort of thing I often get!!!
