I am not denying that we have been prejudged. But it is not a secret
that we have lots of such fringes and so no one could be faulted for
having a wrong idea of what homeopathy is... remember how we ourselves
could not get around our hands around what homeopathy is... and Luise
was saying we have a parallel homeopathy without being homeopathy-
we have many such parallel universes....

well it is neither here nor there...fact is we are under the lens...
the question is how to validate ourselves... if we can do this
carrying all our fringes with us - it will be great...

Dear Shannon
The discovery of allopathic or antipathic agents is completely different. Their stool has only one leg!
They just work out what it is capable of doing in a certain condition and if it does not cause 'much' damage else where, they employ it. But as we know, they get this process wrong.
In Homoeopathy, we aim to KNOW the properties of our remedies:
Aph 2 " if he clearly perceives what is curative in medicines, that is to say, in each individual medicine (knowledge of medical powers) "
How do we get this from a dream proving - doesn't it get affected by what the dreamer had eaten or done or not done before?

Regards

Soroush

Oh? Is this something people find out about from
No... It's *not* something people find out about, unless they have
been either perusing sites such as this, where people are *talking
about* their own sources of professional(!!!!) frustration, or
eavesdropping in professional sites that they are not actually intended
to be at, or reading "skeptics" columns, written by people who have
been doing any or all of the above. So, if by "no one could be
faulted" you mean that there was no ill will leading up to the
misunderstanding, I have to fully disagree.

Do we ridicule physics on the basis of the squabbles over string theory
(which of course IS written up here and there in the popular press), or
the nature of those squabbles, or the personalities involved? Do we
say that physics is placebo because Einstein used "thought
experiments"? Are we going to decide that space travel is for loonies
because now we know about a "mentally unstable" astronaut?
Yep, that is indeed a problem, and may turn out to be one that hangs
us...
I ask again, what do you think we should be doing?
How do you think we can best "validate ourselves", particularly to
those people who do not *want* to find us out to be "valid"?

I do understand why it is (far) less-than-perfect from the homeopathic
standpoint. I was only addressing the "scientific" aspect.
Best,

Truth does not go away whether you agree or disagree-
wilfull marketing might be a part of it now- but what people do as
homeopathy is another...even in Rajan Sankaran's web site there are
articles about his style- with internet you do not have to do
anything much to know about the state of any practice... we discuss
such practices in the discussion groups because this is a discussion
group....if any of our practices needs secrecy, that is not
good..even in India 10 years back most of the people did not know
the difference between herbal, homeopathic, ayurvedic practices...
theory

There is no comparison Shannon- we are not talking about fairness-
are you going to say that because physics is not being questioned,
no one should question homeopathy... we are already being
questioned... there is also no comparison between basic sciences (
like physics) and applied sciences like homeopathy-the problem with
homeopathic potencies right now is that it is very difficult to
account for their actions based on basic sciences....
I have already said that repeatedly- political action, social
action, ads, marketing all are necessary. At the same time we also
need to correct ourselves, validate new provings, validate old
provings and stop offering excuses why we do not want to examine our
practices and try out ways to get back to the mainstream. As I said
earlier if you can do that carrying your fringes with you, that is
ok.
