Dear Fran,
It's fine to be testy :-)
I've worked with many hundreds of kittens - the effect of dosing the
mother is shown by the infant's response to a healthier mother, yes -
but they do not respond to each others' remedies directly.
It would not even make sense that they did as a non-matched remedy
would not have effectiveness.

Where I see a connection is the case where the mother's need for remedy
has had symptoms that affected the infant. So if mother's symptoms
affecting infant then are resolved, the infant will no longer be
affected. The mother's remedy is not treating the infant, only the
mother. The infant just benefits as a result, not directly - in my
opinion based on what I see.

Irene

I do not go along with it based on what I see, and based on the lack of
logic with vital forces being separate.
I would have believed it if H "gave the remedy" - physically handed it
to them to the mother or wet nurse - so they could dose the child.
I'm just reporting what I see and what makes sense to me vital-force
wise.
It would be allopathic to expect the milk to "carry the remedy" from
one to another.

This case also looks different to me than the one we were discussing
where mother and infant need and get different remedies.

Just my view!

Dear all,

just ONE experience on dosing the child via the mother:

- baby had eye discharge for some time
- mother took remedy A
- nothing happened
- mother took remedy B
- 30 minutes after the next breast-feeding, baby's eye started to clear.

Happened: 16 years ago.

BTW: I took the remedy only via olfaction.

And yes, olfaction is enough - and yes, amelioration clearly started
AFTER the next breast-feeding.

Best,

Gaby

Ahhh, interesting theorising but I can see that you have not yet found that aphorism that I and many others have confirmed again and again.

Hi Irene,
No - he had them take it.

This I know for sure. I do not know whether it was effective (did not
study the follow ups), but I suppose so, since it was mostly for
acutes and his rate of success with acutes was pretty good.

Not necessarily - have you not seen/read/ heard that remedies can be
antidoted by being near strong smelling substances? What happens to the
energy there?

Nope- but here mother is giving her milk to the child and that is how it

I have not had the interaction of the remedies as in Vera's case
but treating the child with medicine to the mother - Repeatedly done
and verified- Also in India in our parts of the country, mothers who
breast feed their children are not even allowed certain food stuffs -
some kinds of banana - is supposed to cause indigestive symptoms
in the child- and also not allowed to expose themselves to extreme
weather etc. Spices etc. and supposed to interfere with child'
sleep.

§ 284 Sixth Edition

Footnote
1 The power of medicines acting upon the infant through the milk of
the mother or wet nurse is wonderfully helpful. Every disease in a
child yields to the rightly chosen homœopathic medicines given in
moderate doses to the nursing mother and so administered, is more
easily and certainly utilized by these new world-citizens than is
possible in later years.

We can agree to differ. I think that any apparent transfer has a
different explanation, and I'd dose each individual with their
simillimum, directly.
There's no point in dosing the wrong individual with the wrong remedy
for them and the right remedy for someone else:-)

It's not like it's hard to dose an infant :-)

Actually that is a "standard" way of dosing a nursing child--or at
least it's the way our very "traditional", Vithoulkian homeopath had me
dose my then-infant--for me to take the remedy that was indicated for
her, and for her to get it thru nursing. It worked just fine, and/but
there was never any problem from her getting my remedies. His
explanation was that the two (mother and nursling) are so tied anyway,
both chemically and energetically, that what's needed by one is apt to
be relevant to the other anyway. Who knows why... It does seem to
have a good track record, tho.
