Hi Ellen,

Kidney Stones can be caused by a veriety of infections, toxins and nutritional excesses (too much Vit D) and deficiencies in Vit A, selenium, and Zinc.Stones are caused by calcium and magnesium deficiencies from the bones. Prevention of stones includes supplementation of calcium and magnesium, especially if you are a big consumer of phosphorus, ie, meat and carbonated bev's.

Excess Vit D (suntanning, fish oil and supplementation) concurrently with a calcium deficiency will accelerqate the depletion and, thus, increase the risk of stones. Hair analysis may help determine toxity and deficiencies.

Stones lodged in the kidney can be reduced to powder by a ultra sound machine, called the lithotripter.

Regards,
Bill G.

magnesium,

I agree with the masgnesium but even more important IMO is the Vit K to
keep the minerals in the bones.
Vit K1 is good from green leaf veg esp spinach and dandelion - ideal for
the Type O blood meat eater.
Vit K2 is good from yogurt, kefir and other cultured dairy - ideal fro
type A blood dairy consumers.
Vit K3 is synthetic and useless at the task of keeping calcium etc in
the bones.
I'd also suggest a Nori supplement to ensure all the trace minerals.

Canada and much of USA.

More spinach!

Magnesium relaxes the muscle, this would be good for anyone to do not use magnesium carbonate.

I am sorry, you are suffering with kidney stones. You should know by using the wrong type of calcium this could happen , that you get kidney stones. A lot of foods are fortified with Calcium Carbonate this is the wrong type. You would not eat chalk from a school board, this is Calcium Carbonate that gets hard again in your system. If you have to go to the hospital to remove this painful kidney stone you are very lucky. They now can remove kidney stones with sonic waves in a tub, this may be painful bite it is done fairly easily. You would be doing better for yourself using calcium citrate, calcium Chile, free calcium which is also called ionized calcium. Free calcium goes into your blood fairly fast.
Calcium carbonate is also used in mortar and cement, here is some information you may find interesting.

The potato peel broth works through its content in the alkaloid Solanin which has about the same action as Atropin, dilating the ureters and allowing the stone to escape.

Dear Dr. Roz,
Ahh. So the potato skin broth will not work if the stone is sitting in the major calyx. The kidney aches but nothing like the tearing pain of a kidney stone in the ureters. For a small woman whose blood veins, wrists etc are all small, a 5 mm stone could not pass without pain in the ureters could it? I don't know how large the major calyx is, but if the kidney aches from the stone, the major calyx has to be about 5 mm, I would think. The sonograph doctor said just a slight movement of the stone in the major calyx could hurt. With the potato skin Solanin also help the major calyx and the renal pelvis to relax? They look in the picture like they could be the same tissue???
Knowing what is in coke, I think I will leave it as a back up plan. Or is it a strategy to use when the the stone is not yet producing child birth type pain? It is just amazing what you hear when you ask a homeopath for help.
Thanks,
Ellen

Remember that you are not taking a pill or a drop but you are drinking, hence increasing diuresis and mechanically moving the stone towards the ureter where the Solanin will act pharmacologically.
Interestingly I just had a look in RefWorks at the potato, Solanum Tuberosum and there is NO kidney or bladder or urine rubric anywhere, although cramps are described.
It would be interesting to use it in that indication and see if it would work.........but of course I do not have it in my drawers...........bummer...........

Thank everyone for their help. It is getting difficult to stand after sitting so I think it is starting to come down. So I have to get busy fast looking at my repping of my case with all these other remedies in mind. Gotta be fast before I become incapacitated. Will work with a watermelon extract that is normal Japanese herbs, jump and bump when it gets bad, and use the solanine as a homemade homeopathic remedy, try the skins in case solanine is not the major ingredient of potatoe skins. Also, will try something to get myself to be able to drink more water without gagging. I feel fortunate to have so much help. Thank-you.
Irene and Bill, I have a shopping list ready now for my first use of regular minerals. Amazing but I have never used them before. Didn't feel sick despite repeated stones. Denial?? Did not have vitamin K on the list although osteoprosis is very possible (aside from the leaching of calcium from the bones).
Hoping to have a great "aggravation" Ha ha.
Blessings,
Ellen

Hi Dr. Roz and Shannon,

Solanin is from green potato skins and the sprouts. You know those potato that get old and green. I bought organic potatoes that are not old and boiled the skins. So far, the soup just is giving me a headache. The family is sometimes responsible for arthritic responses but it takes a while for that to develop. (days).

Dr. Roz, Solanin is a remedy with a few proving symptoms. Kidney symptoms are not among them, but then how many provers have kidney stones during the proving?

Boericke:
Solaninum aceticum (threatening paralysis of the lungs in the course of bronchitis in the aged and children must cough a long time before able to raise expectoration); Solan. pseudocaps. (acute pains, in lower abdomen)

Varma:
Solaninum was proved by Clarus and Schroff and others. Slowed and oppressed respiration was a marked feature. Respiration was slowed in inverse proportion to the increase in the pulse rate. There was cerebrospinal irritation, hyperesthesia and convulsions worse by touch.

Interesting that Sankaran cites Berberis-vulagris as feeling intermittently stuck and harrassed (sycotic all remedies- Sankaran's malaria miasm) but in a postion to rapildy change her position or character. That's me. So I am thinking of taking a higher potency than what is used in the past for kidney stones. Maybe 200c or 1 M

Best,
Ellen
