machines

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Dear Charlotte, Thereasa and everybody who has contributed to this debate.

"One soul being listened to and understood by another."

These are fantastic words. THANK YOU.

I think case taking is dynamic and it gives the patient the opportunity to
un-burden themselves in confidence (sometime for the very first time in
their life). The machine cannot do that! And I understand what Lisa says
in that when the machine is introduced, the other doors are closed and would
become hard to reopen.

When the machine is introduced, is the homoeopath still an unprejudiced
observer or is s/he influenced by the machine?

Thank you all for your contributions.

Soroush

Dear Charlotte, Theresa, Soroush and everybody,
Regarding machines and prejudice I would like to make a small contribution. I
personally would ALWAYS take the case conventionally beforehand. Some love
machines and others are not keen. If they don't like them then it is simple -
You don't test them.
I would expect to have some idea of possible remedies before eliciting ideas
from the machine. I would worry wherever people do not do this. I would also
be VERY concerned at ANY blind prescribing prompted by the machine. The
machine that I have is not infallible as it appears to simply give a snapshot
of the patient's vital force AT THAT MOMENT. Despite being fascinating, it is
very mercurial information and do not let salespeople persuade you otherwise!
I can only speak for the machine that I have but assume that this is a
general tendency.

As far as prejudice is concerned, I feel compelled to give my penny's worth
here also. None of us can be unprejudiced - It is impossible despite what it
says in the Organon. We are living breathing beings that react consciously
and UNconsciously to our surroundings. We are not robots. As homoeopaths and
human beings we WILL miss things that are obvious to others. Let us not
flatter ourselves! How many 'renowned' Indian homoeopaths successfully
prescribe for Western women? Not many. Why? Because of the difficulty in
switching to a different cultural viewpoint. In other words - Prejudice! All
we can hope for is to become as AWARE as possible of our prejudice. If we can
do this we should be capable of seeing the machine as an ideas box and
nothing more. Over-suggestible people should keep well away from these
machines!
Regards to all,
Stewart McOwan
