Yes - I was taught to do it against a chair back!! Push yourself into it or the chairback into you. Good luck. However if it has been there all night it may 1) be stuck or 2) it is the abrasion you can feel. I think you need to get to the hospital and get a check up. Let us know how you got on

The Heimlich maneuver is excellent when used immediately - in an emergency situation. If an object is lodged for any length of time, the inflammatory response may create problems. If you try too hard - you could easily do yourself damage. If it has been there all night - this is one time the emergency room in likely your best bet.

DCR and Rochelle thank you both
I actually ate some really STOVE HOT Rice and didn't want to spit it out so I swallowed it going into airway burning severely my throat I went to local Fire Station were E.M.T. explained that if I am breathing that airway seems to be clear and abrasion burn is what is giving me the discomfort I called person I know that works with Doctors I caught them at lunch today but was referred to Emergency Room alternative.
So I came back and made eight ounces of wheat grass juice and let it drizzle down the back go my throat soothing the burned area.
Blessings,
Daniel D.

Thanks for letting us know what happened. Those were my thoughts - the abrasion- otherwise you wouldn't have been breathing!!! You probably coughed up that grain of rice.
Manuka honey may help your throat as well.
