Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
Hi Rochelle, there has been ahuge amount in Australia for 3 years now the remedy I use is Medorrhinum 200 1/dose a week x 4 wks. Molluscum is Pox virus derivative! It is highly infectious and will go through all the children in one family. Breaking the blisters spreads the virus and makes it scar and highly contagious. You are meant to put bandaids on them so they do not expose the other children to the broken blisters. Liz Lalor

Re: Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
Dear Liz,
Thanks for your reply.
Now I rarely see more than 1 child in the family with them, so I don't reckon it is that contagious but it is susceptibility that is the key. So what percentage success do you have with using Med in all your cases as I am willing to change what I do if there is a better solution. I have never heard about using band aids on the broken ones. I give mum HyperCal tincture to dab on any broken ones to prevent infection. I read on the web that Pau D'arco Herbal tincture gets rid of them in a week if dabbed on so I tried it with a few kids and didn't have 1 success!!!!

HI Rochelle - I also have seen quite a lot in past 2-3 years here in Australia - main remedies have been Calc carb, Med, and in one family it was Silica. Like you said I believe it is suceptibility that determines whether it runs thru the family or not, tho same constitutions in family seem get it more easily.
In the family where Silica was the remedy only the Silica constitutions got it the others were OK. Regards Pauline

What is Molluscum Contagium? I spend a lot of time around children -

past the Molluscum popped and cleared within a few days of a
suitable constitutional remedy being given I am finding now that they
are going away far more slowly. I am beginning to wonder if it is me
not coming up with the correct Rx or they really are becoming more
resistant. I would love to hear about others experiences with this
problem, including posology and any specifics. I have to say I
haven't come up with a specific as I treat according to the
individual child in front of me. Last week I had a child in who is
age 2 and has had the problem for 18 months - that's the youngest I
have had in. I think the oldest has been about 8 yrs old. It seems
equally distributed between the sexes.

Bandiads on the new unbroken ones; not the already broken ones. The fluid is contagious. I have only had one failure using Medorrhinum out of 12 cases. Liz

Re: Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
Dear Liz,
Wow that is an excellent record. Up to recently I have only had 1 failure but then Mum didn't bring her back after coming twice. At the moment I have 2 or 3 cases where the Molluscum are going, but far too slowly and whereas I would previously have only seen the child 2 or 3 times the child is still coming back. Previously when I gave the correct Rx they would start to pop within days. Does it actually take the full 4 doses of Med 200 to work? Have you ever tried Med 30 first?

You hit the nail on the head in our house. I have 5 children and
only 1 (my son with autism) "caught" the molloscum. He and his
older brothers all sleep in the same bed (per their choice), and no
one else got them. He even itched them often. I was using thuja
for his irritibility and it also helped the molloscum.

Re: Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
Dear Liz et all,
Just heard from one Mum who has given the Medorrhinum 200 to her
child weekly and unfortunately nothing appears to have happened. I
gave this after trying what I thought was the constitutional Rx
Carc - up to a 200 and then changed to Sulphur 30 with no success.
Mum has cancelled the appointment for tomorrow as they will be
abroad but the phone message left said that she will phone when she
returns - hopefully for another appointment. In your experience is
there any use in continuing the Medorrhinum? My thoughts now are to
go to Molluscum 30 - 1 dose a day for 10 days which I have used
before once successfully. I also started another resistent case on
the Med 200 last week!!!!

Re: Molluscum Contagium Medorrhinum
sounds like you might want to consider using water potencies - doses have
to be individualized. (if this is the right remedy)
Remember Hahnemann came to the conclusion should never give same potency,
but always raise the potency
