Any one know the presenting symptoms of flu affecting children under
3 in Western Australia.
3 have died inside 24 hours. Can not understand the suddenness of
this but do not know the presenting picture. Horror stuff about
hospitals being inundated. Thought to be Influenza A.
Presumably giving Influenza nosode and Oscillnococcinum would
protect, Jean

Can not answer this - but I would attempt to find a paediatrician and

which one) by name of Dr John Hobday if he's still there. If anyone has
a handle on it he may be the one.
A thin lead indeed, but I thought it might be worth a mention.

Thanks Irene. Will watch for a few days and use your suggestion if seems necessary.
I am going away for 3 weeks soon and wish to leave remedy kit for grandchildren. We may be circulated with more facts . Thanks again, Jean

Jean,
I don't know about over there, but my 3 kids here in the United States just had a nasty doosy of a flu this past week. Fevers over 105, sore throats, body pains, nasty breath, diarrhea, "too much saliva," and one got impetigo on her face which she has never had before...
The little one (1.5 year old) was having seizure like jerking of her arms and legs and was burning hot.
We went through Belladonna, Bryonia, Mercurius, and Arsenicum as the symptom picture changed and depending on the kid and each one's symptoms. I did end up giving the baby one dose of Motrin when her limbs began jerking.
All are now recovering nicely with no remedy needed - just left over cold symptoms. The adults didn't get it ... yet... I felt a little under the weather the second day (as did the nanny) but we were fine the day after. May have been lack of sleep - might get it next week! I think they picked it up last week at the park.

Tanya,
She had the fevers for a while and then the seizures began when she was at her hottest.
