Re: fear of rain and t-storms
Hi Shannon,
No, I thought of that, too. Loves the tubbies, loves the wading pool...
Thanks though!
Truly,
Erica
Is there also fear of water on the head (or in other ways) from elsewhere?
Any other issues with water?

Re: fear of rain and t-storms
Just to add a thought to this thread: As someone who has always HATED
drinking plain water, I've discovered through experimentation that it
doesn't have to do with water per se, but with the fact that my sense of
taste is apparently really acute. I can drink specific highly purified
brands of bottled water with no problem (cold is still better, but not
essential). But most water is so full of weird tastes from its contents --
chemicals and natural minerals as well -- that it tastes really awful. So
not wanting to drink water, today (not sure what was going on in various
locations in the 18th and 19th centuries) doesn't have to be actually an
"aversion to water" in the Stramonium or Lyssin sense.

Irene - Thanks! Great rubrics for me to consider. I will look further into those. Definitely some good ones to consider for him.
Rochelle - excellent - thank you! Strange that my software would only come up with Elaps under Mind, fear, rain of.

Hi Soroush,
Any rain at all... even the impending idea it might rain, "Mommy, is that rain? Mommy rain? God made rain. Rains OK. I'm OK. Rain, Mommy?" if outside and clouds come out. Or at the zoo but then will play in the fountain/sprinkler...???
Will want to go inside immediately if it even looks like rain (even without thunder).
Thanks!
Truly,
Erica
Dear Erica
Is this a fear of showery, fast and noisy rain or of any rain even if it is
gentle?

Re: fear of rain and t-storms
Hi Shannon,
Yes, I've thought of it and not ruled it out yet. However, he does love tubbies and doesn't mind the water...just the rain.
Thanks though for sharing your daughter's experience! It's helpful.
Truly,
Erica
I would hesitantly add Lyssin, on basis of my daughter's experience.
Part of her Lyssin stage was absolute *terror* of any water falling
onto her head, which we saw only when she was in the tub and the shower
came on accidentally
(( or when she was caught out in the
rain--which put her into a complete, hysterical panic. (But she did
not mind e.g. seeing it thru a window.)

Why mention God in connection with his fear? Has someone filled him with
horror stories in Sunday school? That it is some kind of punishment for
doing wrong? A mis-perception from tales of Noah's ark, fear of a flood?
Delusion of flood as punishment?
A a lot of questions - but maybe surreptitious discussion with the child
can bring out more WHY he fears the rain - in other words the true fear
as opposed to fear of rain.

Thanks All,
Good info.
Soroush, do you have any info on this? I've never heard of it?
MIND - ANXIETY - weather - rain; about
Haliae-lc (only) worth looking at
Elaps is definitely a consideration given other symptoms.
Thanks!
Truly,
Erica

Re: fear of rain and t-storms
Take the case of the child WITHOUT this symptom and see what remedy
comes up- and see if there are other remedies that come up which cover
the condition of the child.
sometimes these could work too considering how in some of these very
specific mind symptoms , may be you are getting too specific and so
miss out considering other remedies.
if a remedy chosen on other symptoms removes this symptom then you can
add that remedy to this symptom as well...

Re: fear of rain and t-storms
Not really - Haliae-lc is a recent proving.
But what came across from your writing was that the patient became anxious even if she thought it was going to rain and so this becomes central to her case and needs a close look.
Bon chance! - I am off on holidays
