The name of Dana Ullman's new book
Friends,
Many of you know that my newest book is due out in October. I want and even NEED your feedback.
At present, the name of this book is:
THE HOMEOPATHIC REVOLUTION: WHY FAMOUS PEOPLE AND CULTURAL HEROES CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY.
I am thinking of changing the title, though the publisher doesn't want to do this because it has already been announced in the book industry's catalogue as the above.
My question to you is: do you think that it is worth the major effort to change the title (the book has not yet been printed) to:
THE HOMEOPATHIC RENAISSANCE: WHY FAMOUS PEOPLE AND CULTURAL HEROES CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY.
Please note that you can see the entire table of contents, one of the sample chapters (on "Literary Greats"), and quotes of support from professors at Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, and others at:
www.HomeopathicRevolution.com
I am anxious to hear whatever feedback you have for me...

I think the first one. While I prefer the second, I think the first packs more punch.

I like that Carol!
It doesn't sound like you're trying to sell something, but when you read it you ask YOURSELF 'why?' and want to buy the book.
The Homeopathic Renaissance: Famous People and Cultural Heroes Who Chose Homeopathy
Yes, I like that. Best wishes with it.
PS I'll have it available in the Southern Hemisphere

Re: The name of Dana Ullman's new book
Hi, Dana and all. "Renaissance" grabs my attention much better than "revolution" -- I don't know why. Probably, upon reflection, because a "revolution" evokes warlike associations, and I, for one, am tired to death of wars. On the other hand, the "why" in Dana's title piques my curiosity more than when it's left out. My guess is that these changes in the title wouldn't be especially bothersome in the framework of the existing pre-publicity. Good job, Carol. Rosemary

CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY.
My preference/suggestion would be:
"WHY FAMOUS PEOPLE AND CULTURAL HEROES CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY"
Why:
* Most of the population is interested in famous people and cultural
heroes. It's a pull for buyers and the rest dilutes it.
* Revolution is an inflammatory idea to many and may prevent them buying
the book.
* Renaissance is not understood by those without significant higher
education so would put off other buyers and is seen differently in
different subject contexts anyway - again detracting from the reasons to
buy *this* book.
Good work, whatever you decide!

HOMEOPATHIC REVELATION: FAMOUS PEOPLE AND CULTURAL HEROES WHO CHOOSE HOMEOPATHY
IMHO, Revelation would be my first choice...for various reasons. When I "found" [out about] homeopathy (which would eventually cure our son of the incurable - autism), I thought, 'How could there possibly be some kind of medicine I know nothing about?!' and when I learned about how astonishingly it works, 'Why haven't I heard about this before?!' To put it lightly, it rocked my world. Second, the remedies themselves are catalyst to our own enlightening (revelations). And last but not least, the book itself will be a revelation to the world.
Renaissance is a better choice (definitively) than Revolution but again IMHO, lacks the umph that will attract. Consider me uncultured but when I hear renaissance I want to yawn (no offense). (And I'm an artist!) This book has way more energy than that.
Truly,
Erica
Revolution:
1. radical and pervasive change in society
2. sudden, complete, or marked change in something
3. overthrow of government
Renaissance:
1. renewal of life, vigor, interest
2. rebirth or revival
3. great revival of lost art from the 14th - 17th century
Revelation:
1. the speech act of making something evident
2. an enlightening or astonishing disclosure
3. Something revealed, especially a dramatic disclosure of something not previously known or realized.
