A challenging case=please help

Post by Dr. Nancy Malik »

I have a patient of 28 yrs. SHe had an abortion earlier because her child had an umblical hernia. SHe is eager to
get pregnant again but her pathology report indicates high FSH levels and high insulin levels. Her gynecologist says
she has to be put on harmone therapy once she conceived othrerwise it might result again in abortion. I had taken
her case on the bASIS OF TOTALITY OF THE SYMPTOMS. she has responded well overall such as regularisation of monthly
cycle, etc, but her FSH and insulin levels are not coming down. I don't know how to proceed further. If you know of
any homoeopathic medicine in particular or how to proceed in ths case, I would be thankful and obliged.

Dr.Nancy-
Please get all symptoms surrounding the previous pregnancy... what are
the symptoms she gets with these elevated levels-

the month she aborted previously - how did that happen, what induced
it, what happened immediately afterwards- any pain, what kind of bleed
etc. etc.

All of these are very important generals and as such would indicate
the remedy needed for managing the next preganancy-

I have prescribed using the pregnancy symptoms as constitutional
indicators with good results...

If we consider hyperinsulin status as precursor to a diabetic state
and work out with tendency to abortion + Diabetes -

we get Alet, Bacillinum, Cham, Helonias, Plumb, Sec, Sil, Sul...

Cantharis also looks good.

I have previously used Helonias ( diabetes, albuminuria) in 6 with
good results. Plumb is a well known medicine for abortions.

Get her other symptoms and symptoms surrounding the preg and abortion
and work from there...

Interesting note about Sulphur - In India they prepare an oil out of
Egg yolks. This is considered good for sterility as well as for
diseases of children. ( Law of signatures ;-)) I used to think it is
probably the Sulphur in yolks -

VIBURNUM OPULUS
High Cranberry
A general remedy for cramps. Colicky pains in pelvic organs. Superconscious of internal sexual organs. Female symptoms most important. Often prevents miscarriage. False labor-pains. Spasmodic and congestive affections, dependent upon ovarian or uterine origin.
Head.--Irritable. Vertigo; feels as if falling forward. Severe pain in temporal region. Sore feeling in eyeballs.
Stomach.--Constant nausea; relieved by eating. No appetite.
Abdomen.--Sudden cramps and colic pains. Tender to pressure about umbilicus.
Female.--Menses too late, scanty, lasting a few hours, offensive in odor, with crampy pains, cramps extend down thighs (Bell). Bearing-down pains before. Ovarian region feels heavy and congested. Aching in sacrum and pubes, with pain in anterior muscles of thighs (Xanthox); spasmodic and membranous dysmenorrhoa (Borax). Leucorrhoa, excoriating. Smarting and itching of genitals. Faint on attempting to sit up. Frequent and very early miscarriage, causing seeming sterility. Pains from back to loins and womb worse early morning.
Urinary.--Frequent urging. Copious, pale, light-colored urine. Cannot hold water on coughing or walking.
Rectum.--Stools large and hard, with cutting in rectum and soreness of anus.
Extremities.--Stiff, sore feeling in nape of neck. Feels as if back would break. Sacral backache. Lower extremities weak and heavy.
Modalities.--Worse, lying on affected side, in warm room, evening and night. Better, in open air and resting.
Relationship.--Compare: Virburnum prunifolium-Black Haw--(habitual miscarriage; after-pains; cancer of the tongue; obstinate hiccough; supposed to be a uterine tonic. Morning sickness; menstrual irregularities of sterile females with uterine displacements). Cimicif; Cauloph; Sep; Xanthox.
Dose.--Tincture, and lower potencies.
I think Trilium pend is better
