Hello,
One woman is on BCP several years already, in fact more than 10 years
(she had 2 children in-between). She has some allergy and other small
things, which she wants to get rid of. Is it possible to treat and
cure her, notwithstanding the BCP?
I offered her to stop BCP, at least for some time, so that we could
have a clearer picture without the influence of BCP. She is not ready
yet to get off them. She takes them just because she is used to them,
not because of any other considerations.
If I look for a simillimum of the totality of symptoms, how shall I
take into account her situation (lack of menstruation because of BCP)?
Can anybody share any experience? Or any helpful ideas?
Best regards, Michael

Re: Birth-control pills
Hi, Michael.
Finding the simillimum will be difficult because of the symptoms and
modalities that the BCP are suppressing.
That being said, it helps to find out as exactly as possible what was going
on before she started the pills, complete with stories and modalities, as
vividly as possible. Also, you might suggest that it could make sense for
her to start tapering off the BC pills -- and find out what her concerns are
about this -- my guess is she wouldn't still be taking them with no other
reason if there weren't some underlying anxiety, at least, about what would
happen if she stopped, and this could give you good case information.

Hi Rosemary,
Thank you for the advice. I noticed already that it
will be difficult to find a simillimum in this case.
Her underlying anxiety may be that she is afraid to
take on weight (she did not say it openly, but I could
understand it from her words). She took some weight
after the birth of the second child and BCP helped her
to lose weight. Then she stayed on BCP as it was
convenient for her. She is not very lean
constitutionally, but she did not take on weight after
the first birth, only after the second. She was on BCP
since 18-19 y.o. (with intervals for pregnancies) and
she is 35 now.
I will ask her in more detail on Friday taking into
account your advice.
My posts appear with 24 hour delay. I wrote this on
Tuesday evening, and it will appear on Wednesday
evening.
Best regards,
Michael
