Dear Rochelle, thanks for the extra notes - here are some more jottings.

Bit confused about the Causticum. I would have expected a 200 to have done
much more. Not quite sure what 1m will do. Why go higher if you don't think
it worked? I can see Causticum quite a bit but they absolutely loathe COLD
DRY AIR!! I know it is only one Sx but it is a strong one with this Rx.

I know you said her mind goes blank Re the public speaking but what is her
real fear behind this, what part does this play in her diseased state. Is
this 'going blank' 'the losing it' 'the paralysis' her diseased state. Is
this our starting point. She did lose her voice, was this from a cold or
something else (gradual paralysis of vocal chords/Causticum?)

I picked up on quite a bit of suspicion and mistrust in this case -
hospitals, medicines, she even tried to tell you what Rx she should have
(aconite), she has to know how things work (is this through her mental
blankness or her judging the state of things). Is this right or not?

I am reading this:-

Suspicious/mistrustful
Nervy and hurried
Dutiful
Always getting colds
Right sided
Gets stage fright - equivalent of mind going blank - as I said before is
this blankness part of her state in general and not just in public speaking
- yet she is talkative/loquacious (I am having trouble with this, do you
mean like Lachesis can lose the thread of what they are saying?)
Hot, likes open air (but not so hot she fans herself during consult or takes
her fleece off)
Not thirsty
Red flushed face
H/O mouth ulcers and cold sores, warts, stiff neck, tingling and numbness.

Do you know how she got rid of the warts?
How did the whooping cough effect her, can she remember.
Are they always chest infections? With or without mucous + colour etc.
Can you illustrate the 'nervy' quality somehow.

Sorry for more questions, my mind is going blank now! Too many clients
crowding in. Would appreciate the info. Best wishes, Joy

Hi Rochelle,

Regarding your item c) "trying different potencies"

This is one area where becoming familiar with and using the ART techniques
as discussed on David Little's website can REALLY help!

I normally choose to open cases on LM/01, but do fairly regularly test LM
against 30c, 200c, 1M when I have these available in my kit, and will use
the "c" scale when results call for it.

I had my allopathically trained significant other help me with using the ART
technique on myself a couple of days ago- it was fun to see her surprise at
the readily observable dilation/movement of pinpointed pupil as a series of
several remed(ies) were tested

'twas a case of traveler's diarrhea; the remedy which I've taken for chronic
treatment (less and less frequently) over quite some time ('bout 5yrs) [some
ppl refer to this as "constitutional" remedy, but this carries a certain
weight of potential misunderstanding] is Sulph. -and sure enuff - Sulph won
out in the testing over Aloe, Ars, Podo. (I'd had this traveler's diarrhea
for going onto a week- normally choosing not to medicate self for
self-limiting conditions [other than Arnica/bruise/strain type
things] -minutes after the dose of Sulph 200c, I had a tremendous upheaval
[downheaval?] ..anyhow, guts started rumbling and then emptied impressively;
remained "ill" though feeling generally a bit better, repeated (liquid dose)
3 or 4 times during 24hrs, approximately 36hrs later, I felt genuinely
hungry & thirsty for the first time during the whole illness; haven't had
any cramping, rumbling or diarrhea since..

Hi Joy et al,

I bumped into this patient at the gym today. The first thing I noticed was
the overwhelming smell again of cooking about her as if she had been cooking
a stew. Naturally I don;t know if it is on her person or her clothes but it
is strange that this is the second time I have noticed it.

After the Causticum1M she said that she felt very tired. However that is the
only change. She has had 3 colds on top of one another , so she says and the
last one doesn;t go before the first starts again. Her ear problem hasn;t
been as bad but never goes completely. It is worse during the cold. She
reckons that her energy isn't up to much either.

Now I only spoke to her for about 5 mins but it looks as if I will have to
come up with another remedy in about 2.5 weeks time.

I have got everyone' s ideas printed out Lyco, Aconite, Puls and Gels. I
think I am looking for a Rx that can't get rid of a cold and that might well
be the Gels as I often give that for NBWS flu. I also think I might look at
Carc. again.

Will report back after I see her again.

No a meat stew. Sorry I didn't make that obvious. It is the smell I used to
notice on children I taught when I felt their clothes were impregnated with
cooking smells.

To all those following this case.
Although I am not officially seeing this woman until next week I saw her at
a Pilates class and she was sporting yet another cold sore. She was moaning
about continual colds and a constant post nasal drip. The mucus is clear.
Her ear is still twinging now and again.

She went on about 2 things 1) did I think she should take al the Vitamin
supplements she does as she believes that we are poisoning our food with
chemicals and depleting them of the vitamins and minerals they should have.
2) Being fearful of people who cough and sneeze in her company as they are
passing on their germs to her and it's not fair. 3) reminded me that she had
never had a BCG vaccination because the test showed that she had antibodies
in her for Tub. although according to X-rays she hadnever had it.

In the light of the above I am wondering about prescribing on what she is
telling me.

P.S. Any other ideas for my other case RM/Feb04 as I still haven't
